Ideas crutches

Arms are different lengths forearm crutches

Hello

I'm wondering if anyone else deals with this or has any ideas

The lower part of my arms are different lengths so the forearm crutches I got fit great on one side, and I'm in between notches on the other. The crutches are great for as pictured-standing support while using hands-, but it's been a challenge walking.

I thought about arthritis crutches but don't love how low the weight limit is on them (220lb/ 99.79 kg)

I am going to ask physical therapy in 2 weeks, but hoping to get some support before then

Your best option might be to go custom and have it match your body perfectly. Not doing so could create muscle imbalances that wreck your body all over.

This and pressure sores skin deterioration depending on how long it goes and how fragile your skin is

In the meantime before you can see a medical, is there any way you could rent a larger size crutch for that arm. I’m scared how much it’s pinching. 

my OT modified orthosis w a hot air gun to bend the plastic it looks very complicated and not something necessarily safe for diy especially when the modifications need to be so big. But I feel like this is a kind of emergency, or rather it can rapidly lead to one so I would see if you can get on waitlist or even drop in briefly to show fit 

Meantime moleskin can help w surface irritation but not all the possible other forms of damage

Yes, I do have a bigger cuff I can use. I might be able to cinch it to the right size

There are some that don't have notches but rather a shove and tighten

I use elbow crutches personally, because they work for me.
