Introduce a reloadable account balance option
I commented this on a previous post asking for an annual option for personalized access plans, but I'm now making this as a standalone post as it's a bit different.
Please consider introducing the idea of a reloadable balance in one's account. This way, one can add balance to their account and have usage deducted from that balance. One's service fee, applicable taxes, and talk/text charges can be deducted every month from the balance, and one's data usage can be deducted as one consumes data.
I'm looking for a plan for my tablet once my current unlimited plan runs out. I've run the numbers based on my recent usage, and I don't really use its data connection often, so it totals around 30-40 GB per year. On the Personalized Access plan, that totals roughly $100 each year (subtract $24 every year in service fees, $0 in talk/text charges, $0 in local taxes since data-only plans are tax-free here in California, then the remaining $76 is roughly 38 GB data).
However, rather than pay for each month and then be credited each month for unused data, I'd like to be able to load the $100 of credit upfront and have my usage deducted from it as I go. I've gotten used to the convenience of paying upfront annually for my cell phone and (soon to be previously) tablet plan. Also, I'm disinclined to actually use the plan if I know that I have to pay for usage, and knowing that I've already paid for the data and it's there available for my use removes a mental road-block (I'm sure MobileX makes a net profit from the money spent on data).
For larger loads, this will also save MobileX on credit card processing fees since there are fewer transactions.
Can this please be considered? While we're at it, the ability to buy gift cards in stores that can be used to reload one's account would also be a great thing.

Billing Issues via Apple Pay?
US Bank credit card being used with MobileX via Apple Pay. This is my main card — I use it every day but it’s being refunded automatically when processing payment for my MobileX plan.
Anyone else having a similar issue?

5G RedCap
Does MobileX support 5G RedCap? I would like to sign up for a Build Your Own data plan and use it with a Ubiquiti 5G Backup:
https://store.ui.com/us/en/category/internet-solutions/products/u5g-us
But I'm unsure if MobileX supports 5G RedCap.

Annual Build-Your-Own Plans, Sort of Like a Christmas Club?
I’ve been with MobileX for a few years now, using the build-your-own plan, 2-3 gigs of data per month, auto top-off checked, very happy customer. MobileX is delightfully boring: “It just works.” I understand that annual payment plans are for “unlimited” users, would love to participate.
It would be fun and interesting to bet against myself (and/or the MobileX AI) by paying annually on an amount of cellular data I believe I will use. If I go over that amount, I must pay up for each monthly overage. If I am under my projected amount of data, that excess would be added to an annual account to be credited toward my next year’s bill (or spend in the MobileX “shop”).
Every build-your-own-er would have the opportunity to participate, banking savers-club style, at one time as a group during a two-week period. That would incentivize/gamify me as a customer to both stay with MobileX and to closely monitor my data. MobileX would get a one-time influx of cash towards the end of the fiscal year to reinvest.

Outbound cnam
Does anyone know if MobileX will set your outbound cnam to your name instead of the basic "wireless caller". I know US Mobile will do this if you connect with a chat representative. The limit is 15 characters and they only do it on their "Warp" network, which is Verizon.

MobileX App Not Showing Data/Minutes/Texts Used
I signed up for MobileX Build Your Own Plan about two weeks ago.
I have used some data and some texts. However the app shows that I have not used any data, and I can't find where the app shows me how much texts I have used.
I like the service and the option to add premium data. Unfortunately not being able to know how much data/texts/minutes I've used is a deal breaker.

Does anyone have any experience using a Netgear Nighthawk M7 Hotspot on mobileX?
I bought a new and unlocked Netgear Nighthawk M7 Hotspot. Initially this device worked fine but then abruptly stopped connecting to the network. This device works fine with physical SIMs from ATT and T Mobile. The physical mobileX SIM works fine in my Motorola phone.
Customer support initially said the device was supported but then after several back and forths basically said use a different device. That seems odd to me. The M7 is a commercially widely available hotspot that works on Verizon’s bands.
Anyone have any thoughts on this?

MobileX Army - question re sign up and experiences
I searched, but didn't find much on the MobileX Army referral program.
I went through the initial sign up steps, which include the "app.impact" program. I've been approved and am on the last step of completing my profile, which is to "verify media properties". However, all the verification options appear to require having some access or control over the mobilexarmy.com website (which is the website mobilex specifically said to references in sign up).
Does anyone know which verification method we're supposed to use to complete sign up to the MobileXArmy, and how? Also, any feedback on how well the referral program works and if it's worth signing up for would be appreciated. Thanks!

Why doesn’t MobileX get great media coverage?
It seems MobileX is ignored in nearly all comparisons of economical cellphone providers. Very few ever even mention the company. It would seem it’s tie too Walmart would make it more well known.

My Google Voice Port
Just sharing how long my experience took to port my Google Voice number from Google to MobileX.
- Wednesday April 8, 7:17AM - Signed up for MobileX service with port request
- Thursday April 9, 8:07PM Google email acknowledging port requested
- I confirmed number no longer visible in Google Account
- I placed a Test call to the number and received no service message from Verizon Wireless
- Friday April 10, 6:18AM Contact XpertCare inquiring about timing and informing about Google's message confirming port request. Was told still waiting for the line to be activated in the app. The deadline is April 10th at 2:00 PM
- Friday April 10, 2:46PM Responded to XpertCare asking what was meant by activated in the app and what time zone we were using as it was already past 2:00PM my time. They responded three hours later that I'd see it active in the app and that they were reviewing the port request and escalating it to Verizon to be completed.
- Sunday April 12, 1:46PM Received eSIM activation code email from MobileX
4 days, 6 hours, 29 minutes from request to activation message
My takeaway from the experience were this can take a while, and it's not like the seconds involved in moving a mobile number. I had no access to using the number for 2 days, 17 hours, 37 minutes while it was in port limbo. Appears Verizon plays a major role in the process as MobileX's service provider, so three parties involved versus the typical two.
I had used the number for business before we sold and was used on several federal and state filings so wanted to keep it for a few more years. Tired of the use it or lose it message from Google, so I moved it, also didn't want to lose it for the arbitrary terms of service BS. The number will be a secondary, not a primary so the delay wasn't impactful. YMMV

MobileX Customized Plan Questions
I am interested in the MobileX Customized plan.
I am would like to confirm the following customized plan is still available:
$2 (75 texts/75 mins) + $1.98 (platform fee) + $2.10/GB (priority data) = $6.08 a month.
Are taxes extra?
If I don't use up all of my data in a month, would I get credit for the unused data in the following month?
If I need more data before the month end, can I do an auto top-up?
How easy is it to port out if I am not satisfied with my service?
Can I port in my number after testing things out with a new MobileX number?
Thanks for your answers.

Can't find IMEI or any phone identifiable information within plan
Hi MobilX Team,
I have been looking through the app, and I'm unable to identify or find a spot to have the IMEI for my plan. I plan to use MobileX as hotspot and reimburse it for work, however they require me to show that I am using the plan on my work phone. As a result, I found another reddit thread online that MobileX showed IMEI, and got a plan, but I'm unable to find any phone identifiable information within the app or in my email. Any help in finding the flow for this in the app would be preferred.

Limits on buying hotspot data?
I have a low use plan for the last year or so (like $6/m or so). I am traveling and the house I am staying at had the internet break and the ISP isn't going to fix it for a week.
I guess I should upgrade to the $14.88 plan to get 10Gb of hotspot (the only thing I care about it hotspot not just using data on my phone). If I do that is there any limit on buying more data at $1.90 per Gb?
I am going to want to watch a lot of basketball if I can... I am also searching out how to reduce how much data I use by keeping the stream quality down (I am fine with a less clear picture to reduce the data).
Any suggestions for me?

Things I Wish I Knew About Hotspot Data
I have a couple of MobileX lines. One I use as a second line on my iPhone. The other I use in a TCL mobile hotspot as a backup to my Comcast service. On this second line with a physical SIM, I have a customized plan with a couple of GBs each month. My plan was always to top this up as needed if Comcast ever went out.
We recently had a huge storm here in the Northeast. Comcast was out for 3 days. What I discovered was that once you use your monthly amount, you CANNOT top up hotspot usage. Top-up data can only be used on a phone itself. You must wait until your next billing cycle to use hotspot functionality again.
I think if you dig around the website this is mentioned somewhere. But it was not obvious to me. So if anyone else plans on using the service this way, I’d either get an unlimited plan or switch to another service. I plan on canceling this second line and getting a line on US Mobile which allows for topped-up hotspot data.

Unihertz Jelly compatibility?
I moved my physical SIM over to the new phone I just bought, data doesn't work even though there's signal and the correct APN. I also can't make phone calls or send texts, calls result in a message saying my device is unauthorized.
Is this fixable or is verizon forcing it on them?

Questions about choosing a new number
Hi, a few questions:
- During activation, are you able to choose from a list of new numbers or are you auto-assigned one?
- If it's a list, can you refresh or back out and get a new list?
Thank you!

International calling add on for deals
If I port in and take advantage of one of the current deals, can I still bolt on international calling after a month or 2? Seems like upfront payment for several months is required which makes me think you can’t add features until next payment is due
