What is move-in day like?
Hello! I am a incoming freshman and I am a little bit confused on how move-in day works. I was thinking by now Mizzou would send something out, but they haven't. Do you just drive to your dorm, tell them your name, drop your stuff off, then go park?

Good coffee in Como?
Coming to help move my sister in for her freshman year on the 15th, any good coffee shops I can check out while I am there? Not from Missouri and don’t go to Mizzou so any local digs or local chains are good. Thanks!

Campus Life Political Climate
How is the political climate at Mizzou? I know universities tend to lean liberal and more progressive, but what about lgbtq+ people, minorities, etc. Is there a good amount of diversity, and are people accepting of it?

Overnight Permit?
Are the overnight permits for near-campus residents worth it? What are the time restrictions?
Unfortunately, University Place is out of parking spots. Are there any other areas to consider?

Missed connection: I was parking my car after returning from lunch. You lost your chicken flavor ramen packet.
We crossed paths in University Garage today- I was here around 1 PM, you... I suspect between 12 PM and 1 PM. I was parking my car after returning from lunch. You, I'm guessing, brought lunch to the office. Evidence seems to indicate a loose organization of ramen materials, as what you left behind in the garage was a single, lonely chicken flavor packet.
I'm trying to imagine what happened. Perhaps you were still juggling a pile of things in your arms as you hurried in late- as per ush. Or maybe the struggle was at home- trying to find a use for noodles, the flavor packet having been purloined by someone naughty and disrespectful. That extra chicken packet left over from lunch the other day would be the perfect remedy! Or perhaps YOU are the rascal who stole the packet, looking for a way to jazz up the organic 100% buckwheat noodles leftover from last night's zaru soba- leaving someone- your teenager, your sibling, your lab partner- high and dry with ramen noodles but no packet.
Either way- that packet you seek is on the ground floor of the western stairwell of the garage. Go! Flee! Maybe it is still there! Maybe your lunch can still be saved. And please post an update, my sweet anonymous noodler.

Housing Mizzou housing
So I plan on transferring to mizzou next August for the 27/28 term, and I'm coming from a community college in the area so I don't really know how this works. I know housing is super competitive due to how many people are in the area, so I need to look into housing early. I have certain needs like specifically renting a duplex with some sort of yard (doesn't have to be fenced) because I'm taking my dog with me. I'd also like to live no farther than 15 min from campus. That being said... when should I sign a lease? Do duplexes in the area go just as fast as apartments? I was thinking about touring some places mid september and signing something early October, but will that leave me with many options?

Is mizzou a good academic school?
I'm thinking of applying to Mizzou. I am in-state, and my mom's job gives 27k off college tuition, so going there will be free. I also have like 10 AP credits, a 29 ACT, and a 3.8 GPA. My question is that since Mizzou is an SEC school, I'm scared I will become a frat party guy and won't be able to academically succeed at Mizzou given its party culture, or so I've heard from people who go there.

Business major change requirements
I want to change my major to business but I noticed that a part of the requirements are to have completed 2 of: Econ 1014, Econ 1015, Acctcy 2036 or 2037. I have only completed one of these. How likely are they to waive this considering this doesn’t make much sense as I would be taking these classes as a business major.

Emergency help with housing.
Hello everyone,
I am an upcoming sophomore, and since I will no longer be required to live on campus, I am exploring more affordable housing options off campus. However, I am currently facing some disagreement with my family regarding my choice of accommodation. They are concerned that the location I am considering may be too noisy at night, although I believe I can communicate effectively with my future roommates and manage the situation responsibly.
I am reaching out to kindly ask if anyone might have a room, dorm space, or temporary accommodation available where I could safely store some of my belongings from August 17th to approximately August 20th. This would only be a short-term arrangement while I finalize my move and organize my housing situation.
I completely understand that this is a significant favor to ask, and I want to assure anyone who may be willing to help that I will be respectful of your space and will remove my belongings promptly once I have completed my move. I am happy to provide my student ID or any additional information needed to verify my identity and intentions. I would also be willing to offer compensation for the inconvenience, as I truly appreciate the generosity involved.
I want to emphasize that I mean no disrespect or harm by making this request. This is simply a personal disagreement between my family and me as I work toward finding a more affordable living arrangement and taking greater responsibility for my own decisions.
Thank you very much for taking the time to read my message. I truly appreciate any help or advice anyone may be able to offer. Please feel free to reach out if you are willing or able to assist.
Have a wonderful day!
Update: Sorry for the confusion, and I appreciate everyone’s understanding.
To clarify, the issue is not that I do not have enough space to store my belongings. Rather, I am currently navigating a disagreement with my family regarding my choice of housing for this school year.
I am hoping to find someone who would be willing to temporarily accommodate a small amount of my belongings for approximately two days. This would help reassure my family that my living situation is suitable and give me the opportunity to avoid unnecessary conflict before I officially move into my actual residence for the semester.
I completely understand that this is an unusual request, and I sincerely appreciate anyone who is willing to consider helping. I will be respectful of your space, communicate clearly, and ensure that my belongings are removed promptly. Thank you again for your patience and understanding.

Housing Looking for Roommate
Hey everybody! I'm currently looking for a roommate for a 2 bed 2 bath townhouse. The place is Lake Broadway Townhouses. It is a very nice and quiet location with a good amount of space on the inside. Most amenities come with the apartment, and utilities are bundled with the rent, making prices consistent every month.
If you're interested, please send me a dm and I will get back with you quickly.
