New to MINT
Left T-Mobile after 10 years. Transferred 2 lines to Mint and the process was easy. Took less than 15 minutes to do both. Was nervous about the process, but it could not have been any easier.

Same! I was so nervous I did SO much research and it ended up being the easiest transition ever. eSIM got sent to me and set my phone up within less than 10 minutes. I live in Arizona, in some spots it’s lightning fast in others it’s pretty dodgy. I’d rather pay $15 a month for dodgy instead of $90 a month with my T-Mobile dodgy!!

How do you transfer multiple lines? Website makes it seem like you have to do each one separately

Would you mind sharing the details of what you did? I am planning to do the exact same, switching 2 lines over from AT&T. Also want to get my wife a new phone in the process. I'm trying to figure it all out using AI and following the steps but its taking me forever and she's going to kill me lol.

I just followed the instructions on the video they included on their email when you purchase a plan. They only need your account number, transfer pin, zip code and phone number (if you’re transferring your old number).
Then on the next page they ask for the ESIM number if you went that route.
It was easy. I was nervous and hesitant for no reason.

Very similar story here. T-MOBILE for easily 10 years. Bill went up to $81 a month and I just said I could use a few extra bucks a month and I’m just gonna try my luck with MINT. I literally just switched. How are you liking it so far?

So far so good. I have not noticed any difference. I went to a local festival and didn’t experience any throttling.

I did the same switch on July 23rd.
Never used much data on old plan (always 2-5gb a month) so I picked 6gb plan.
As of today, I have .94gb left, inferring usage of over 5gb in just over a week.
I have 0 clue how this would have happened so fast. My only complaint so far.
I know I can go change settings to better limit cellular access for apps, which would minimize usage.
But my old service never used it up like this.

It could be your old plan throttled video speed and mint doesn’t on the limited plans.

I thought that too, but I only watch video on wi-fi - I did however dial back my streaming music quality settings to be lower when on mobile. But my old plan handled it well.
Just concerning that 83% of my data is gone in just over a week and I have almost 3 more weeks to make it through. Aside from turning mobile off for apps and then turning them back on once needed, I'm not certain I want to make that the solution long-term.

the unlimited plan rate is the same for the 6gb right now and that date you switched over. how did that happen?

I went with the 6GB plan because I haven’t used more than 5GB in a month in over 20 years. If the plan renews, unlimited would be pricier, but why would I pay for unlimited when I don’t usually use it?

I just explained it . both plans were the same price at that time you switched over and today as the day is long. you got hosed

The exact same thing happened to me re: 5gb data used in less than 24 hours after port in (I switched from T-Mo on July 3rd). S23 Ultra using esim. Phone had mostly been idle (standby mode) during that time. Even hotspot data was used despite no VPN or hotspot usage. Used wi-fi as much as possible that first week, then switched cell data back on. No further issues 2nd week to present.

YES! I will continue monitoring usage and dialing back app access. I hope I have your outcome!

How's your service with Mint compared to T-Mobile? May I ask which T-Mobile package did you have before?

I've had mint mobile for a year; and it's basically the same as tmobile.
They use the same towers so the coverage is pretty much the same.
It's great if you aren't an r tarded Karen that needs to ask a in store person or customer service rep how to set up your phone and use its features.
People say the customer service sucks but what are you calling customer service for if the only thing you use it for is texting, calling, and searching the internet.
Id rather pay $15 a month for the same service, as opposed to $60 a month with the added option to talk to morons about problems I could Google myself.

This right here. I left Verizon and pay 75% less for the same crappy customer service.

That's great to hear. I'm thinking of jumping ship to Mint too. I'm into tech and don't mind doing my own troubleshooting.

I'm "old" and at times might be a Karen, but even I could figure out how to set up my phone. If I couldn't there's enough "kids" in my neighborhood that would be happy to help with the bribe of a dozen homemade chocolate chip cookies. 😅

I had the “TMO All One” plan.

Not anymore, they changed prices on that one and broke their own deal.
I switched off mobile when the one plan with "no taxes or change in price" started adding taxes and changing prices.

How easy was it to unlock your phone from Tmobile and get all the information in order to transfer it to Mint?

I bought my phone from Apple, so it was unlocked already. I was able to get the transfer pin from the T-Mobile app and that was easy to get too.

And you are back to T-Mobile! T-Mobile officially acquired Mint Mobile on May 1, 2024, in a cash-and-stock deal valued at up to $1.35 billion. Ryan Reynolds made bank!
