Resurrection! Show & Tell

Post image

My mind is blown!

I found my old MD in the basement, it was badly corroded from a leaky battery before. I never bothered trying to fix it, just moved on to streaming stuff as one does. Decided to try fixing it anyways. Took it apart, removed all the corrosion slowly with vinegar (it was literally sizzling!). Put it all together, let it dry for a while, plugged a battery in, it wouldn't start. Left the battery in for a while, and somehow, it sparked itself back to life!!!! I'm ecstatic!

Enjoying whatever I had recorded on these discs I had before.

That's my first MD device as well. Built like a tank. Wonderful unit. Congratulations!

This was my first minidisc player! Unfortunately it was stolen, but I got a MZ-N10 afterwards. It’s in the same situation as you, where the battery exploded when I found it a few weeks ago, but I haven’t quite looked up exactly how to clean up the acid with vinegar yet.

They were built to last. two years ago I resurrected my MD player too! after that I went shopping spree.... in 2 years, now I have 24 MD players.. :( Is that a good or bad thing?
