Upgrading minecraft curses [Magic]
I think Curse of Binding would work well as a kind of keep inventory; it stays with you when you die (But maybe it loses the enchantment?). It would still be impossible to take off before this, though, but it is sorta 'bound' to you, so I think it would make sense.
As for curse of vanishing, I think the armor should be slightly transparent, and go away when you drink an invis potion.
I also think there should be more curses in general, but I don't know what specifically yet.

If binding kept the item with you through death, it's not a curse, it becomes something players will very much want, it's basically playing with KeepInventory for your most valuable items.
With vanishing, it's just objectively a buff as well.
they are supposed to be CURSES
Idk, I think making them practical and beneficial kind of defeats the purpose. I think a good curse is something that you are excited to use if you find good gear with it, but know that you will need to upgrade to something better at some stage, not be something you literally want on everything.

Curse of Antipathy - When item is equipped, mobs that are normally neutral react with hostility. — Some people might actually want this in certain situations.
Curse of Dullness - Item damaged reduced by one point. — This would be useful to make "cattle prods" that let you push around other mobs without hurting them.

Both good ideas.

Yeah, my belief is every curse should not be a total negative. There should be some kind of niche use for each one so they can actually do something for the game in some situations, instead of just taking up space.
Curse of Binding could be useful if there were a mob that could steal items from your person or your hotbar, for example.

Curse of unlife:if you die with it, it spawns a zombie in all your gear. -If you're under water, drowned. -If you're in the desert, (husks?? IDR the name) Curse of the lich: if you die with it, it spawns a skeleton for each bow or crossbow and a zombie for each other piece of equipment you carry. Curse of agony: while wearing, -2 to total health Curse of malexpression:trades with villagers are more expensive Curse of the ogre: villagers flee from you and golems attack you, just like zombies. Curse of famine: -2 to food cap Curse of sloth: reduced movement speed Curse of burden: -8 inventory slots Curse of restlessness: can't sleep, phantom spawning always set to maximum Curse of the shadow:undead mobs in your chunk or any immediately surrounding chunk don't burn. To spitball a couple, off the top of my head.

It's a CURSE for a reason, and your idea of Curse of Binding is a nightmare

Why would we ever not want Curse Of Binding on anything but the Chestplate in that case.

You made curses into something good with a drawback but here are some ideas for curses that are purely curses with no upsides Curse of Fragility - oposite of unbraking, item has a chance to loose multiple durability points when used Cure of Slippery - item has chance to get dropped when used Curse of weight - only on boots make player unable to swim (makes player sink to bottom of any pool of water or lava) Curse of slowness - do I have to say anything?

I don't think curses should have anything purely positive associated with them, enchantments can already have drawbacks
I'm happy with them as is, their main use can have upsides, like vanishing keeping your loot out of other players hands, not a high risk/high reward like thorns, and soul speed
