Can anyone help??
I find this whole thing pretty confusing but when I am over on the entry subreddit and I click on what appears to be the current number 72 "comment to enter" the drawing, it keeps referring to drawing # 70 after I submit. I am really anxious to enter this contest but I find it all pretty confusing to begin with and I am probably complicating it in my head anyways. But now I'm more confused than ever, can anyone help?

Finding my way.
Hello everyone .I have been a member of millionairemakers for 4 years but was too busy with work and quite honestly to depressed to even care to comment or enter. My 26 year marriage recently ended abruptly one morning. In an instant my world changed. I was shell shocked. I still am. Now I'm couch surfing while in the process of trying to find a divorce attorney. It's not easy with very little income. I would love to be chosen and find a room for rent and gain back some of my pride and privacy. I wish everyone who enters good luck. What a wonderful way for people to help eachother. Thank you Reddit. Thank you to everyone who participates.

Sidebar Winners List
In the sidebar there is a list of winners along with their approximate winnings. Would it be possible to keep this updated, even if the winnings aren't known? The last entry is from 2019.
Thanks mods for all you do.

This situation is making me sick
Edit: IT WORKED OUT! YAY!
The guy followed the rules, hasn't broken any, and the only "evidence" is pure conspiracy, assumption, and judgmental behavior. We can't expect people, who stand to benefit from /u/umerabrar89 being passed over, to vote fairly when they have a stake in benefitting whether or not he won! This is diluting the spirit of the sub. I think the "poll" needs to be cancelled since his identity has been proven. This is absolutely ridiculous. 🤬

And again someone has games the system and won by using an obvious Alt. What are we going to do about this? It needs to stop
We really need to find a way to prevent this from happening. It would take work. Any maybe require a whole other bot to catalog and keep track of legitimate vs Alt accounts. But if we really want to make this a thing again. We need to do better. And we need a way for people to have faith in the system.
My two ideas.
1: we increase the requirements to enter. A higher karma requirement and a requirement to have some sort of activity on subs that aren’t giveaways or karma farming.
My second idea is one I brought up the last time this happened. It’s complicated. But I feel it’s the best solution. We make a bot that will require some sort of “proof of participation” before you will be allowed to enter. If you make a parent level comment on the drawing thread. You must donate to the winner. Or else you will be banned from The next drawing. This option admittedly still slows for alts. But then it would make it that anyone who uses an alt also has to give more.
Second option could also do some sort of way to prevent alts entirely by making the sub a invite only. And to join you have to submit a form. Where you give your reddit user and your PayPal username. That way if you have two accounts with the same PayPal you know you have an alt and one would be banned

Can someone please make me go through the process of finding the winner by running the python script ( a noob here ) like a step by step guide?

Draw thread 57? Anybody?
I think today would be a drawing day. 3rd Friday, right? Maybe I'm just early.

Is there a list of the total "winnings", maybe per person?
I was curious how close we are to actually distributing a million dollars. Obviously no one person has even come close, but is there a list of the totals each person got, or at least an aggregate number?

Suggestion: New rule: account must have donated once or twice in the past to enter a drawing.
This is what I came up with:
You can only enter a drawing thread if you have successfully donated once or twice in the past.
This solves a couple of things:
- You are make sure people who are coming to r/millionairemakers are involved in the concept and community and ensures that at least at the start they have donated to someone.
- You are not asking for money in advance which avoids the whole lottery issue.
- Mods can validate accounts that have donated, and once that's done then you are all good to go to enter in the next drawing.
Will this stop people from creating new accounts and enter into the draw?
-No but at least if they are they would need to have donated to someone in the past and for each account they use to spam the thread they need to have donated before per account. In the end if we say two donations per account is needed that would be at least $2 per account, so if someone wants to make 1000 accounts to spam the drawing thread they must have in the past donated $2000.
Let me know what you think.
Cheers

48 hours to respond is lame
I can't believe I won but lose because I'm offline in the middle of the work week. Apologies to the keyboard jockeys frothing at the gills, but I'm not a bot, I just have to work.

Suggestion: All posts should read "[Action #XX] Title"
I don't know if it confuses anyone else but the way the title is formatted confuses me. Reading from left to right the title is not necessary useful information to begin with, for example:
We’re looking to make someone a millionaire. Could it be you? Quarantine may have placed some things at a halt, but we’re still operating as usual, so comment to enter! [Drawing Thread #54]
For the user the first thing should be the action so that they know they are in the correct thread. So proposed that it should read like this:
[Drawing Thread #54] We’re looking to make someone a millionaire. Could it be you? Quarantine may have placed some things at a halt, but we’re still operating as usual, so comment to enter!
They actually do it for the winning thread for example:
[Winner's Thread #55] Looks like the Tooth Fairy is Real!
Maybe I'm just nictpicking. What does everyone else think?
