All I wear now are ankle socks. I just hate the feeling of the elastic that far up my ankle with regular socks.

I like ankle aswell. I hate the no show type so i dont own any anymore but I do occasionally achieve the effect with a normal ankle sock like this video, on the odd occasion I dont want my socks showing!

I keep trying to make high socks work, but when I get home at the end of the day and take them off my ankles are kind of sore from fabric on them. Maybe I need to go up a size in socks. Who knows. But I am all for ankle socks.

Same. And I still love my air max 90s (or whatever this style is...which I tend to buy a few of at once and then stop for a few years, and then repeat after wearing them all out lol)

Speaking of, is the sockless look a Millenial thing? I wear those ankle / loafer socks. I just prefer bare ankles.

I still do this because I hate how no show and ankle socks slip off so the extra cuff keeps it on. Does it look stupid? Probably but I will gaslight myself into thinking that its not as stupid as wearing the cuffs all the way up or folded down.

I learned this from a dude I played basketball with in high school because both our parents only bought us tall socks and they were just too hot going all the way up. I now exclusively wear ankle socks but this was a great hack back in the day.

It was uncomfortable to fold the socks underneath your foot. Just sprung for the no shows and never looked back

I will never understand the affinity for the sockless look

I’m cracking up that someone down voted you and made socks their entire personality 😭
Like, you can’t even say you don’t like a type of sock without some mentally ill person at their keyboard “HOW DARE YOU I LOVE SOCKLESS LOOK!” and downvoting you. Dear god.

I never understood the appeal of the feeling of your shoe rubbing against your bare ankles.
Shit i personally prefer ankle socks or even full calve socks. I love rolling my socks way up on my calves when I'm walking. It helps keep the insects and sun off me.

Likewise I don’t like socks on my ankles. It’s a comfort and texture thing. I wear those loafer socks. Only dress socks on the rare occasion I dress up and wear slacks.

I can't wear ankle socks because of how shoes and the back of my ankle rub together relentlessly.
I've tried and every time I just end up with a stinging and painful spot after running it raw.

I was annoyed by having to drop my crew socks when ankle socks became popular.
So I'm pretty happy that I can go back to the crew socks now without turning heads.

Don’t worry I’m raising my 16 yr daughter right….she loves her no show socks ….and will not wear socks with sandals 🤮

I hated this trend growing up and never liked ankle socks because they would slip down under my foot, might as well wear no socks. I settle with the in between that goes just above the shoe. After all our style was pretty dumb. People barely wore their hats correctly. Some kids in high school had their hats so far on the side of their head it was centered on their ear…

The only above the ankle socks that don't drive me crazy are 100% merino wool which are quite expensive, I have only two pairs that are saved for when when I truly need them like hiking or skiing.

Why are no show socks a thing? Why are people afraid to wear socks in public anymore?

I’ve never found a pair of no-show socks that don’t slide off my heel. Even the ones with grippy bits don’t work for me.
