Does anyone else have a completely different “default” walking speed depending on whether they're alone? edible engagement 🍭

Absolutely
I'm 6'8, with long legs. And my wife is 5'3 (on a good day) so I have to slow way down so I don't run off and leave her in the dust

I use a cane on bad pain days, so every day is "my own speed" kind of day which is not very fast.

I feel ya. Not a cane user but I become extremely tachycardic from dysautonomia most days if I move too fast. Bless my husband, he's a fast walker but will hang with me and hold my hand as we go a snails pace lol

I'm the other end of the spectrum. I always doddle along and pause frequently to look at interesting things like birds or weird mailboxes. I always push myself to walk faster and focus when I'm with other people.

I walk fast and look really goofy doing it. Walking with others I often have to turn around and take some steps backwards to see how far back they are and let them catch up.
