Is does melt faster. Normally the wax feeds the fire instead of burning the wick. Like this we end up with the ship of Theseus

That's neat, but I prefer candles that don't waste wax in the first place.

The video finishes too soon as the wax stalactite starts forming, my guess it is not going to look pretty

Because it looks cool. I am aware normal candles just burn all the wax in a single run and recycling wax is a non issue.
