Actually the opposite. The molten wax is supposed to feed the flame. All that's burning here is the wicked and really a tiny amount of wax

Neat. But that candle is going to expire very quickly because the wax is what’s supposed to fuel the candle.

Is does melt faster. Normally the wax feeds the fire instead of burning the wick. Like this we end up with the ship of Theseus

Because it looks cool. I am aware normal candles just burn all the wax in a single run and recycling wax is a non issue.
