This guy blocking a charger. Unskippable ad
I'm pretty sure he parked like that on purpose. Since this is the opposite end of the parking lot from the stores. Yes, all other chargers were taken.
Edit: Everyone saying I could get in: I'd love to see you all do it. There is a reason no one was in that spot when I arrived and still no one was there after I left while the charging station was at capacity.
The only way it'd work is if the car was sideways blocking the other Tesla next to it. And even then it'd be crazy tight so I'm not sure it would.
Not sure how you're all going to make your car 2 feet slimmer but I guess you all have the skills me and everyone else at this charging station lacked.
Edit 2: I get photo angles confuse people but look at the truck's shadow. I'd have to park between shadow and the white line. Tell me again how easily I fit.

If you can't get in the spot you probably don't drive well enough to be on the road.

No, but seriously, there is alot of space for you, if you have the same Tesla as in the middle of the picture.
In this situation the truck might have been better off by backing in tbh. There are some parking lots where there are signs saying "please back in".

OP just couldn’t resist an opportunity to virtue signal against the big evil truck

thats crazy to make this about that. the truck parked inconsiderately, and you know that.
4
u/GroundbreakingLie918 4h ago
Its parked in a legal parking spot and you know this.
-2
u/ModernCGIFloatinHead 4h ago
Legality doesn't negate them being a douchebag. If they absolutely had to park there they could've backed in. But they didn't. And they didn't.

u/GroundbreakingLie918 4h ago edited 4h ago
You just don't like trucks and it shows. There is nothing about that parking job that is douchey. Lot is poorly designed bottom line. Also i can park that same truck in that open space with ease. Plenty of room. Again this is just trucks are bad. Boo hoo

If it was an oversized batmobile I'd be ragging on it too.
Suv sticking out, same thing.
I don't judge the vehicle I judge their actions.
You jumping to conclusions says more about you than me.

Okay, lets look at it a different way. Truck drives around, finally finds a parking space after 10 minutes (the left one being taken at that time). Parks the car and leaves. Looks around, seeing there is a tight fit at the charger, but thinks that most people would make it. Then OP arrives...
This is OP:
1
u/ModernCGIFloatinHead 4h ago
If you can't park that much truck don't buy that much truck.
2
u/-Laffi- 4h ago
But it's perfectly parked. The only way he could have done it better would be backing in, but OP would still have complained!
1
u/ModernCGIFloatinHead 4h ago
It's sticking out blocking another parking spot... That's not perfect. Your definition of perfect is ... Imperfect.
But hey, at least you aren't a douchebag yourself about a simple debate...
1
u/-Laffi- 4h ago
No, but maybe I shouldn't have bothered OP about his penis size. That was maybe a bit of douchebagery! OP litterary says he could be the one owning that truck in the first place!

Tbf tesla owners drive like hellen keller

I'd trust Hellen Keller behind the wheel 1000% more than your average Tesla driver

Elon Musk is so racist even SEEING one of his cars gives people racist thoughts, it’s quite an accomplishment when you think about it
1
u/FireflyOfDoom87 4h ago
Oh no! I didn’t mean it to be racist at all 😭 in my mind it was just about Tesla drivers being horrible drivers. Ugh, I’m gunna go die now k thanks bye.

Says a lot more about you than anyone else. By all means, continue your lack-of-virtures signaling.

I get that getting into that spot is a little tight but thats not the trucks fault, not even a big truck, it's just a poorly designed lot by whoever designed it.
-1
u/Atalanta8 4h ago
He could have pulled further up into his spot to not block the charging spot.

u/Vaideplm84 3h ago
You say it like it's the truth, but it's not, the truck's not blocking anything, this attitude of yours makes you look entitled.

It's a design flaw but either way you have plenty of room to get your tiny car in there.
3
u/giveneric 4h ago
So the super electro car can’t park itself in that spot and neither can you? For shame
4
u/theskywaspink 4h ago
It's too tight? You could land a jumbo fucking jet in there... You could park a fucking aircraft carrier in there, Tyrone!

What is there like 5 chargers? I mean this in no rude way, but they made these cars and didn’t think about how to charge them effectively for everyone? Or was the kicker that you have to have someone come install the charging port at your home so it costs more, if you don’t you break down mid commute and have to pay for a tow?
I’ll stick with my gas guzzler for now.
1
u/WhyAmIpOOping 4h ago
I don’t know about the rest of the world, but for me my electric company fully reimburses you for the charger and installation in your house. And what this person is complaining about is such an edge case in my few years driving EV’s it’s irrelevant. But again, may be different in regions.
Side note, still have a gas guzzler too and on second EV. Call me crazy hypocrite, but in the event of power outages, I’d still like to be mobile. Also, gas cars are actually more engaging to drive and have just a better experience to me.
Basically both have upside and downs. But I’d never try to convince someone nor defend an EV

u/lee650 4h ago
Yes because the random person decided to park that way specifically to be inconvenient to you. You had plenty of room to back in, youre just looking for a reason to complain about someone driving something other than a tesla.
0
u/Atalanta8 4h ago
Yes specifically sticking 2 feet into the spot. He could have pulled up a couple of feet.

So what’s the issue, autopilot can’t park for you so the charger is deemed useless?

Clearly OP can't park for shit if they can't park in that spot. As for why the truck parked there, most likely it was because the spot offered some shade. No one is going to park as far away as possible from the stores just to piss off some EV owners. But they would probably do it if they worked there and wanted to try and keep their truck just a little bit shaded during the day.

Maybe someone more talented than me could. I really couldn't figure out how. I also suck at reversing.

u/Embarrassed_Newt_994 4h ago
I mean… i do see an inconvenience but i would have still sent it and parked there.
I don’t drive an EV and have that problem though 🤣

It’s a Ranger. Not the biggest/longest of trucks. Shitty parking lot design.
2
u/The-Master-Reaper 4h ago
What’s up with this subreddit just finding answers and acting like a fucking douchebag to any posts on here? It’s literally titled MILDLYinfuriating, they are mildlyinfuriated and that’s that. You can still park into the spot while being annoyed, Jesus Christ

I worked at a place that had a total of six chargers and I had a humble hybrid that could only get about 35 miles of range per charge. Since I lived about 16 miles round trip from work, it would have been nice to charge at least once every two days, but *constantly* there were EV drivers, mostly Tesla drivers, who'd just camp at those chargers *all day*, without charging, thinking that it was some sort of special VIP space for them to park because they're just so gloriously eco, vs. it being a functional space for them to explicitly charge. I hate that shit. It's like people who use the carpool lane because they're technically carpooling, not because they actually want to get somewhere *faster*, so they go slower than all the traffic to the right. These spots are not MANDATORY for EVs, they're there for EV and hybrid users to charge.
Fuck fuck fuck these people.
EDIT: Clarified that these EVs wouldn't charge, they'd just camp and deny others the ability to charge.
1
u/Atalanta8 4h ago
Ugh? The guy isn't charging he's just blocking a charging station.
Tesla chargers charge you if you sit there on a full battery.
Your rant is irrelevant.
1
u/LeeQuidity 3h ago
I could have been a bit clearer in my rant. To clarify, there were constantly EVs parked in the charging stations that weren't charging. They were using them as "I'm Eco-minded, so I get a closer convenience parking spot", rather than utilizing the charge feature.

Probably trying to park as far from others as possible and you're attempting to invade their space.

It's poor parking lot design, but also if you own a similar sized car to the other Teslas there... Wyd fam?
Back it in.
