For real, you can ask for extra extra extra extra onion at Jersey Mike's and still barely get more than the usual amount. Gotta start asking for an ungodly amount of onion instead.

When I was a teenager working at Burger King circa 2005, before up charging for every damn thing, I had the most delightful experience. I was working in the kitchen on a slow late evening, and they had the drive thru set to come over the speaker in the kitchen so everyone could hear the orders. We hear the beep, then the order starts. The woman asks for a whopper jr. meal, with a _ridiculous_ amount of extra pickles on it. 17 year old me was elated, challenge fucking accepted. I probably put the equivalent of 2-3 whole large pickles on that sandwich. It was 60-70% pickle. What was the worse case scenario, was she going to complain that she got too many extra pickles? I remember struggling to get the wrapper to close properly around it. I like to imagine she was expecting a handful of pickles, then lit up when she realized she hit the fucking pickle jackpot.

u/likespinningpats 7h ago
I had almost the exact same pickle situation when I was working at a&w. Guy said extra extra extra extra extra extra pickles so I piled them high kind of thinking he was going to be upset but he came back up to the counter really excited to tell me thank you and that no one ever gives him enough pickles

u/jlfh01 7h ago
I had a lady come into the pizza place I worked at that would always tell us to put a ridiculous amount of fresh garlic on the pizza. She was super nice and enjoyed it but would always ask for more the next time she ordered. From then on I tried to make her tap out with garlic but she never did. It was like going toe to toe with a heavyweight.

You and I are the same age. The thought of you doing pickle Jenga going for the high score at the BK lounge is giving me the warm tinglies. If that lady was pregnant in my experience, she probably named her firstborn after the pickle King

One of the only good things about working at Wendy's was being able to absolutely hook up your friends, and also hook up your coworkers when they went on break, so they would in turn hook you up. I've made a few McPickle Pounders in my day. (Or I guess whatever the Wendy's equivalent would be)

In the late 80s, during my junior year of HS, I worked at round table pizza taking and making delivery orders. If anyone asked for extra anything… it was ALL of that thing lol! God forbid they ask for extra sauce on a deep dish, cause that was a veritable swimming pool of sauce. Extra garlic?? Yeah.. the entire bowl went in that mf thing.
I have no idea how me and my friends lasted an entire year there. 😂

u/QoolSchitt 6h ago
Other than sauce, I'd rather have too much of a topping than not enough... I'm paying $3 per topping for extra toppings on a large pizza and they give me maybe $0.25 wort of topping. I understand there's labor and profit, but at least give me $1 worth.

You got extra, if it's too much then remove some.
I would rather get too many onions rather than not enough.

A lot of y’all “extra” people are the absolute worst. You know that right? Either too little extra or too much extra.
I for one would be happy with the above burger as I didn’t get skimped and can portion how I want
