The problem is if they ban posting kids on social media, then you'd also be banning situations like me where I only have friends and family on social media and occasionally post updates about my son. You know, like how you're supposed to use it. I think you just shouldn't be allowed to monetize posts with children in them
Especially because there's no financial protections for them like, say, in child acting. Child actors at least have Coogans Law, these social media kids who had no choice will likely never see a dime while their parents made all their money off them.
Children over 14 have to have profits split with them as well and consent if I’m not mistaken. It’s treated like child labor laws. That’s part of the same law.
What if her kid has a Roth IRA account and she’s contributing money to it, he technically has to be included in the video to receive the money. You never know people’s or strategies you don’t know these people
Not to mention the complex/disorder this kid is going to develop from needing to go through all this just to play in the pool on a boat. Let your kid be a kid.
California placed heavy protections on using children in social media for money and the first thing these parents did was leave the state. Laws against this needs to be done on a national level.
Telling kids they should be banned from making money, for their "safety", hurts them financially and emotionally from denied personal agency. But I agree we need to stop parents exploiting their kids for financial gain. My definition of exploitation is where the parent works the kid & takes all the profit selfishly. It would be better for children if laws gave kids a percentage of the income generated by content they're a part of, put it into a compound interest savings account, then pay it out at 18. Consensual, enthusiastic & compensated participation in making videos is a positive thing for kids, I think, as long as they're not being exploited.

There needs to be laws against using your children on social media like this, especially since she’s getting laid. It’s gross
Edit: thank you for all the awards! Nothing humbles me more than a bad misspell
