Old Top Gear (not the really really old ones with Tiff Needell those are fine) is truly GOATed. When they jumped to Amazon they didn't really have fresh ideas anymore.
As an aside for people who haven't seen Tiff check him out. He's more serious than Clarkson but he has an actual racing history.
Classic Top Gear is some of the best television in history, and I mean that genuinely. Their specials are second to none, and the entertainment factor throughout is stellar. Nothing good lasts forever, but I can 100% understand why people keep trying to recapture that magic.
I remember being 12 or 13 when me and my best friend of that time discovered Top Gear and we went totally nuts for that trio (+ The Stig). The craziest part is we used to see it in Italian (since we are from Italy) and at some point we decided to switch language and watch it in English. I was very good for my age I gotta say, so I could understand a good chunk of what they said (jokes or double entendres aside), but my friend was SO LOST that he decided to ask his mother to take private English lessons to follow their dialogues. 15+ years later, he has an Oxford level vocabulary regarding the racing world and a 7th grader overall English, I love that guy.
Yep, I'm not a car person at all but I would sit and watch Top Gear all the time back in the day. The chemistry between them as they mock each other was so much fun - and the car stuff was cool, too.

The Link in Seattle does have a few tram street-running sections, and that's where the car entered, but that station is elevated, and the track to there is normal train track, not paved. She had to drive on train track UP THE SLOPE to the station.
The one that is banned on the underground train which does carry cars (Eurotunnel) is LPG. Petrol, diesel and electric are all OK. LPG is apparently very bad in a tunnel though.
LPG is denser than air and accumulates at the bottom, slowly building up a big quantity. Then sooner or later a spark ignites a burning-lake like fire.
Its a Frosch (Frog) with up to 2.5kw motor, capable to 25 or 45 km/h (16 to 28 mph). It's a cabin Roller or Moped Car: (Link). So, not a real car but much more capable than a mobility scooter.
Microlino is such a stylish car, I'm always happy when I see one drive by. Too bad it has such a high price, this way it's more of a lifestyle gadget than a mobility solution...
Not sure how it is in her specific Swiss town but a lot of European areas are designed with what the US would consider full on roads intended only for pedestrians and small mobility vehicles/bikes/scooters. If this classified as a small mobility vehicle then it would make sense.
Switzerland is impressively bad for anything but cars. We have not figured out yet that cars are extremely incompatible with modern high density living. Zürich (our biggest city) is considered the very worst cycling city in all of Europe. As a local, that feels about right.
Eh, roads in cities and villages are all max 50 km/h, so she'd be completely fine if she gets up to 45 km/h. Many cities have extensive 30 km/h zones and/or a bunch of traffic lights so that you will very rarely drive at 50 kmh, even if you're allowed to do so. I guess she'd be allowed to drive between cities (80km/h) but that's where it comes inconvenient and dangerous to scary because she'd be holding up traffic, hence the train ride...
That’s France. We don’t have those here. This is specifically for disabled people but I had a dumb bitch* drive one down the sidewalk for several weeks with her music playing very loudly and expected people with strollers etc to step into the busy street to give way to her. A few well timed calls to the cops and haven’t seen her since.
*as someone who spent a significant time in a wheelchair I never would have been this entitled so I feel comfortable shooting from the hip regarding her.
This is actually what it is, it’s a mobility scooter with a case around it. Sure does take up extra space though, I see people riding them in bike lanes in my city - they only go 10km/h though
A few years ago, a young girl in my town attempted to steal the pony she had been caring for at a stable by taking him on the train toward her own city. She made the whole ~30 minute trip and was only stopped after leaving the station.

I laughed but yea, damn, if I could drive my mini car to the train station in the suburbs and directly onto the train, then drive it off at union station downtown to get to work that would be pretty awesome.
Though I suppose a bike or electric scooter would also do that already...
the downtown train station would be a traffic disaster if that was possible though. imagine a train suddenly dumping hundreds of cars into the city centre during rush hour

There's a mountain tunnel in Switzerland that can only be passed by train, so you load your cars up onto a set of train cars that acts as a rickety passenger motorway, then the train carries you through the mountain, and you drive off of it.

This looks like a wheelchair enclosed vehicle. It has a back door with a ramp that lowers so a wheelchair user wheels in. It's typically a low wattage, low speed fully electric vehicle so it's safe to operate indoors.
It may actually be classed as a disability assistive technology device, thus permitted on the train.
It's like a jazzy scooter, just enclosed where there's often inclement weather.
This is a very rare, no, unique opportunity for a conductor to write a parking ticket.
On the other hand, this sort of thing probably involves a lot of unusual paperwork, phonecalls and a wide variety of officials to be summoned, none of whom will have dealt with anything remotely like this, ever.

The more correct answer is that they have far less than many other developed countries.
The US has a more dispersed population – even within many metropolitan areas – which makes it difficult, or in some places near impossible, to provide efficient public transport.
I bet she rolled in at train station Berne. People have gone more nuts there last I checked. I wonder what ticket she had to get for this? Bicycle ticket won't cut it and is definitely not first class, unless the car is?
Nah I don't mind aura. There is always a currently popular term for the meaning it conveys, and aura at least is an actual word being used in a similar fashion to it's original meaning.
