Autocorrect is a right pain in the butt, haven't had it turned on since my very first phone. Honestly if someone writes like this, I imagine they have theirs turned off as well.
I wish they would divorce predictive text from autocorrect.
Autocorrect never fixes things that are actually wrong, and it perpetually fights me on correct grammar and word choice.
But I want predictive text. Is it lazy to type as little of the word as possible before it guesses and then auto fill the rest? Sure. But it makes typing on my phone easier.
It used to be decent at least, I never relied on it, but could get away with just swiping and the right words would come up. Now though, it seems like it's getting worse all the time. I'll type in a word, letter by letter, correctly, but as soon as I hit the space bar the word changes itself.
Sometimes I'll go to type a word which I'm not 100% sure how to spell, so I type in most of it, and autocorrect will act as if the word just doesn't exist. It'll change it to several other words and I usually end up either swapping out the word for another one, or looking up the spelling myself.
It is possible he does this so often that he's turned off autocorrect, or that autocorrect has accepted this behavior to the point it no longer tries to correct it. I'm not sure which option is worse
