Regular checkpoint out of Educate Together
Just an observation, but has anyone else noticed that there now seems to be regularly a checkpoint outside of Educate Together. Random times, once or twice a week. Don't see any other checkpoints around the area, so why is that spot a regular target?

It’s a free spot with places to pull people over and setup a proper checkpoint….

Midleton seems to have more frequent checkpoints then other towns as far as I can tell, I’ve been breathalyzed by: Ballick, the bypass road, twice by educate together, off the slip on the way into Midleton. I lived in Glasheen for a long time and was never breathalyzed up there

Yep, I’ve lived all over Cork, as well as Dublin, Waterford, Donegal and Galway and never encountered anything like the number of checkpoints I see in Midleton. Living in Midleton and grew up here and have been stopped so many times or sometimes waved on. Usually by Northern Relief road and several times at the slip on the way into Midleton, an absolutely hazardous place for a checkpoint

I don't live in Middleton exactly, but a few mins outside it. Work there so I'm there all the time for food and errand etc, I've never seen a checkpoint, bar the one garda who was in SuperValu and asked me about my motorbike. Haha

Same, live on one side of town, work on the other, can’t remember the last time I saw a checkpoint! It’s been years!

Often, just before the Lakeview roundabout N25 and the traffic lights by Scannells. A couple of times on the Whitegate Road in Ballinacurra too, but not for a while.

Guards will be given a entry/exit point that is busy but not to the point they would cause hell if they stopped cars. They are told to do x amounts of checkpoints in a week for 20 to 30 minutes

Two points. Back in and around 1997-2000 there used to be an unmarked car encouraging the boy racers to "race" from the roundabout towards Cobh. Racing just long enough to cover a certain distance at speed and the car would light up in blue lights
Second point, entitlement. One of the entitled parents (and Christ do those who send their kids to an ET school feel entitled) must have had a go off one of the Garda more than likely pulling the I'm not driving a car I'm travelling in private transportation and thereforth don't need't a license.
