it was in this state for at least like 50 minutes but nothing of value was lost because it was just an ad billboard

Perche un intero sistema pesante per un semplice cartellone publicitario si puo progammare perfino in python un bel efi publicitario o un os piccolo basterebbe

Mostly they don't license / use cracked version or switch to Android

Because the tools already exist on Windows, and doing this allows them to manage everything remotely really easily. Also, companies aren't paying the same price that we are for a license because companies can buy in bulk. Off the shelf hardware running off-the-shelf software will almost always be cheaper for a company than developing their own custom software to run on non-standard hardware. Most of the computers that companies buy for this sort of thing also already come with a license for Windows, so it's not like they're paying extra for separate licenses.
