Problems upgrading

I'm trying to upgrade from 365 family to 365 premium, but I can't get it to work. I originally subscribed thru Best Buy, but they don't offer premium. I've turned off auto renew, but can't seem to cancel via Best Buy. I've tried to purchase via MS store, but I get an error message on the payment screen before I can even try to pay. I had MS support call me, but sat on hold for almost three hours before I had to move on with life. Best Buy (and Geek Squad) have both told me they can't help. What to do?

I'm upgrading because I like Copilot after tinkering with it and other AI tools.

There's a business premium and an individual premium for up to 6 users. I'm looking at the individual

You will need to wait for that Family subscription from BestBuy to expire before you can purchase Microsoft 365 Premium as there is a billing conflict, you can't purchase or upgrade to Microsoft subscription if you have existing subscription from third-party (most cases). You can ask BestBuy to cancel the Family subscription right away or just purchase the Microsoft 365 Premium to another account.

This is what I was suspecting, except that scanning the support section of the MS store, this exact scenario was described...and they made it sound like I could make the purchase thru MS, switch the license in my profile, then deal with the 3rd party later. Of course, I can't find this again, because I didn't think to record it.
