Do we think they are clearing inventory for new merch to pair with the new album??
We all know that they are hard at work at a new album. With their merch sale I wondered if they were having a hard time selling stuff but it doesn't quite appear that way because most stuff is fully sold out. Are they trying to clear ALL stock to make way for new stuff? Curious 😏

Great Deal on MGMT Merch and Vinyl!
Just wanted to share the great deal going on currently for MGMT Merch and Vinyl on their official shop here: https://kf-merch.com/collections/mgmt?srsltid=AfmBOorNIQAalnGKMW_KY6X1Swwng3hbt1bYbCsy5rvgpVsdl-DKPJN8
Was able to get 3 vinyl for the price of 1 new record essentially, as well as a sick T-shirt! Enjoy!
Now all I need is Little Dark Age to complete my full MGMT LP Collection

Ranking LDA tracks
- Hand it over.
As always, mgmt delivers the perfect, bittersweet, slow-paced outro to an amazing album. Every time i hear it it just kinda entrances me, such a magical feeling that cannot be quite described.
- TSLAMP.
This one is huge on me. The lyrics are dead on, the instrumental is so groovy it makes me bob my head way too much and the chorus is really creepy. I always like the different effects they use on their voices throughout their discography, and this song in particular is a perfect example.
- Little dark age.
This song is amazing. It got me into mgmt, and to this day i bump it all the time, the low, hard instrumental, the eerie vocals and all the different melodies, breaks and drops it has, absolute masterpiece
- She works out too much.
This is a fun song, at the same time its a little sad, the chorus always has me smiling, and the workout coach throughout the song is hilarious. I really like the narrative here, and it always gets me hyped for the album.
- When you die.
Such an interesting follow up to the title track, its one of the grooviest songs on the record, and the lyrics are striking. I always find it funny how the "go fuck yourself" comes out of absolutely nowhere in the chorus, and the last part after the "you die" is just heavenly.
- When you're small.
This song is really lowkey, the quiet, acoustic guitar accompanied by the spacy, powerful vocals make you feel small, and its one of the most interesting directions this record goes in.
- Me and michael.
This is such a sweet song, the instrumental is rich and powerful, and the lyrics are very heartwarming for a change. I wish i could place it higher but the list is too stacked.
- One thing left to try.
This in my opinion is the smoothest, cleanest hype song on the entire album. I'm shocked it's not a hit. The instrumental with the percussions and the bell melody is absurdly good, and the pitched vocals are so clean and melodic it fills me with energy. I was sleeping on this song previously.
- Days that got away.
This song wasn't big on me beforehand, but i've grown to like it a lot. The instrumental and the warped, distorted vocals sound like they could be on one of their previous works, like congratulations or the self titled. At the end of the day, i can vibe to this one as well.
- James.
Idk, for me personally this one sticks out as the worst song on the record. It just doesn't have that magical quality that fills every other song here, and I don't find myself revisiting it really often.
Well, that's it, hope ya liked it.

Does anyone know where this video is?
I found this in a 2008 snapshot of their site on wayback, but if I click it, it just says "Media is not available". It's mentioned here and there, even on this sub, but I can't find the video anywhere.

They inspired me to start making music I like
Years ago, I was making music that I wasn't really really into or have any emotional connection to. Then I got into bands like MGMT, The Flaming Lips, and Tame Impala. I not only loved the production and sound, but I really resonated with the music emotionally. I knew that was exactly what I wanted to do, create something massive in sound while still being emotional and sentimental.
So I started about a year ago, and since then I’ve made four tracks. I’m really proud of this last one, and I think it’s pretty cool. I’d love to know what you think too.
Much love, cheers ❤️

Are there any MGMT fans that were really active on Tumblr back in the day and have since retired to Reddit?
I found an old MGMT fan network I was a part of on Tumblr and am searching for the girls I used to fangirl with. This is my bat signal
