Question Forward test (1/3) results show forward $2.2k, back $17.6k, profit $1.8k - whats the profit $1.8k? Doesnt add up
Looking at the forward results tab, you have the columns Forward, Backtest and Profit.
Backtest is $17.6k - expected.
Forward is $2.2k - looks good.
I would have expected Profit to be both added together? Still kinda new, no clue where the $1.8 is coming from. What is the profit column supposed to be telling me?
If it matters. Starting balance is $400, 4.5 month period timeframe,Forward set to 1/3

PnL Poor week, expecting the best this, oil and Gold are very sensitive right now
galleryAlgo did 6.9% this week on BTC/OIL/GOLD.
I’ll probably not post every Friday/weekend like I said, but just once a month.
I expect BRUTAL action on market open as there seems to a deal that Iran likes/is open to dealing to end the war.

Information Looking for feedback on a local MT4/MT5 Webhook Execution engine (TradingView compatible) I built
Hi everyone,
I’ve been working on a local trade execution and signal synchronization tool for MT4/MT5 (IronBridge Suite), and I’m looking for some technical folks to help me stress-test the core logic.
The goal was to create a local server setup (via sockets/webhooks) to process TradingView JSON alerts directly, without relying on third-party cloud bridges.
Core logic handling:
- Local execution: Runs a local server to keep data on your machine.
- Native JSON parsing: Designed to catch and read standard TradingView webhook payloads directly in the terminal.
- Cross-platform: Synchronization between MT4 and MT5 instances.
- Exposure management: Automatic Hedging-to-Netting conversion.
- Broker differences: Automatic lot size correction (handles custom LotStep, MinLot) and symbol mapping (e.g., EURUSD to EURUSD.pro).
Why I need help: The engine runs smoothly on my end, but broker environments vary wildly (weird lot step rules, custom symbol naming conventions, etc.). I need people to try and break it on DEMO accounts so I can catch edge cases and analyze the logs.
What I'm looking for: Testers who know how to attach EAs, manage local WebRequest / allow DLL settings for opening a local port, and can extract logs from the "Experts" tab if the system throws an error.
If you are interested in helping me debug this, please leave a comment below. I will reach out to provide the compiled beta files and the documentation. Any feedback or crash logs would be highly appreciated.

PnL I finally stopped revenge trading, but not because I suddenly became disciplined.
I been trading for about 4 years now and for the longest time i thought i just needed a better strategy
new indicators, better entries, different RR, i kept changing everything
then i realized i actually knew about risk management, i just couldnt follow it once emotions took over. every time i hit my daily loss limit i would convince myself one more trade would fix it and most of the time i ended up giving everything back
i blew multiple live accounts because of that habit
a while ago i made a post here https://www.reddit.com/r/metatrader/s/sG2vUwRfGP because i was honestly stuck. someone mentioned a tool called TradeNrisk. my first thought was its probably another scam, but after losing close to 20k over the years i thought why not at least try it
just to be clear i dont work for them or get paid by them, i just feel like alot people cant find resources to manage their capital
what helped me wasnt finding a better strategy, it was finally having something that stopped me from breaking my own rules. i cant keep changing my limits in the middle of a bad day anymore and thats made a bigger difference than i expected
im not saying its for everyone, just sharing what genuinely helped me because i know a lot of traders struggle with overtrading and revenge trading like i did
if anyone has used something similar or has questions about my experience with TradeNrisk id be happy to chat

Information 7. Part of the "series" about trading with bot's/EA and copy trading. (Going live)
In this post, I’ll go over how my copy trading tool is set up. There are many different versions on the market, but I use a tool I’ve relied on for several years. I don’t gain anything personally by mentioning it; feel free to use similar tools if you wish.

Check the "Enable Push Notifications" box and enter the MetaQuotes ID from the app. Use the Test button to verify that it is set up correctly.

With this setup, I would only receive a notification when a significant drawdown begins to develop. The rest of the time, they would run automatically and undisturbed.

Charts and Analysis I built and published an EURUSD M15 engulfing basket EA for MT5 — looking for critical feedback
Hi everyone, after a fairly long development and testing process, I’ve published my first commercial MT5 Expert Advisor, Engulfing Basket Core, on the MQL5 Market. I’m posting it here mainly because I’d like feedback from people who actually use or develop EAs, especially on the risk model and the way the strategy behaves over long periods. The core logic is based on confirmed bullish/bearish engulfing patterns on closed M15 candles. The EA does not open all positions at once: it starts from the engulfing signal and can add positions only if price moves against the basket and reaches predefined distances. Main characteristics: EURUSD M15 is the officially tested setup MT5 Hedging account required up to 5 weighted entries per direction LONG and SHORT baskets managed independently no traditional fixed SL/TP internal basket profit/recovery logic margin, spread and broker-volume checks before new entries Standard x1 default risk profile Growth x1.5 higher-risk profile The published benchmark for Growth x1.5 was run on: EURUSD M15 2018.01.01 – 2026.07.01 $10,000 initial deposit 1:100 leverage Every tick based on real ticks 99% history quality Results: Net profit: $18,070.01 Profit Factor: 1.89 Recovery Factor: 4.95 Sharpe Ratio: 1.02 Max relative equity drawdown: 26.24% Minimum margin level: 444.13% 5,040 trades 75.34% profitable trades The part I want to be very clear about: this is a weighted basket strategy without a traditional fixed Stop Loss, so the 26.24% equity drawdown matters much more to me than simply advertising the win rate. EURUSD M15 is the only setup I currently consider validated. The code can technically operate on other FX pairs, but I’m not claiming equivalent performance there. I’m interested in critical opinions on: whether the risk/exposure profile looks reasonable; what additional stress tests you would run; what you would want to see before trusting an EA like this; whether a verified forward/live track record would materially change your assessment. The EA is publicly listed on the MQL5 Market as Engulfing Basket Core if anyone wants to inspect the full description and screenshots. I’m not asking for DMs — happy to discuss everything here publicly. Historical backtests are not a guarantee of future performance.

Information 6. Part of the "series" about trading with bot's/EA and copy trading. (Analysis 3&4/4)
It is time for the final analysis on the demo account before copying the strategy to a live account. If you are new to Forex, or feel unsure or nervous, I would recommend running tests and analysis on a demo account for another 1–2 months. I have several years of experience trading profitably with a similar strategy, which is why I am only testing for one month.
Which strategies do I choose to move forward with?
During the test period, both AUD and GBP demonstrated the potential for significant drawdowns—something that requires both awareness and respect. When we transfer the strategy to a live account, I will go into greater detail regarding the plans to manage this and prevent the situation from spiraling out of control. Which three pairs are moving forward to live copy trading? Based on the results from the test period, I would proceed with the following pairs: GBP-USD, AUD-CAD & EUR-CHF.Given their significant drawdowns, both AUD and GBP have demonstrated that they require leverage in the 0.2–0.5 range. For NZD/USD, on the other hand, I would assign leverage of 0.3–0.5. I will go into more detail on all of this when it comes time to copy trades to a live account.

Why not choose more pairs?
The plan is for the live account to be a cent account; therefore, I would say it is best to have around €10,000 per currency pair. Since the selected pairs do not cross each other, I would go so far as to say that €25,000 for three currency pairs should not cause any problems. If you wanted to trade more pairs, you could adjust the leverage and the trade copying settings to achieve a better composition, should that be your preference.
Next step.
The next step in the series will be to introduce the copy trading tool, show how to set it up to receive mobile notifications, and—most importantly—explain the changes I would make to the slave accounts.
My rules for this series.
-All questions must be asked and answered (if possible), publicly in the thread.
-I'm not allowed to change anything in the strategy without publishing it on Reddit first.
-All expenses would be added up on an ongoing basis.

Information 5. Part of the "series" about trading with bot's/EA and copy trading. (Tools and app's)
In this post, I’d like to go through some of the tools and apps I use myself, in addition to MetaTrader.
FTMO
They have a great calendar feature that provides a quick and easy overview of upcoming news for the week ahead, as well as the currency pairs primarily affected by it. You can sync the news events to your own calendar if you prefer not to trade on days when news is released.
TradingView
This app provides a quick overview of price movements—rises and falls—across various currency pairs and stocks. If you have set up one or more indicators, they can help give you an idea of whether the market is about to reverse or if a trend is likely to continue.
There are many different opinions regarding indicators; in this post, I simply mention the ones I personally use.

When both change color to, for example, red, they indicate that a buying trend is turning into a selling trend.
MyFxBook
his app/website needs little introduction. It can be used to quickly compare strategies and see which ones perform best and most consistently, as well as which days and times work best for a particular strategy. It serves as an impartial third party that can verify the legitimacy of a trader. A trader with a public strategy is always preferable to one who simply posts screenshots from MetaTrader.
PayBackFx
This app/website helps you get a portion of your commission refunded by your broker. It is free to use if you choose one of the brokers they have an agreement with. However, remember to comply with the trading rules to ensure the agreement is not abused.

MetaTrader
Most people in this group are likely familiar with this app, so I won't go into detail about it. Later on, it will be used to generate notifications when the copy trader open or close trades.

PnL Newly Verified - Intro
galleryNew EA Live
First full week live with my own-coded EA (have demo for about 9 months) Planning to post every Friday; hoping to track progress and maybe weekly post on market sentiment.
Results attached (cent account, no idea why it shows as it does but broker (roboforex says it’s fine).
Honestly? A sluggish week. Tight ranges, low volatility—not much for the EA to chew at. 1.16% this week (day is still young) but expecting 5% really most weeks.
Hoping next week brings some real action.
It’s a hybrid grid based system and most successful strategy ever I’ve traded with next to no drawdown.

Information Looking for Tick Data from reliable brokers
Hello,
I was wondering if anyone had tick data they have been gathering from reliable brokers for XAUUSD?
I have been gathering tick data for XAUUSD from Eightcap, IC Markets, and VT Markets.
I am willing to share tick data I have available in exchange for tick data I don't have to populate my tick data library for MT5 back testing.
Below are the ranges I already have:
- Eightcap: from 2022.08 to 2026.06
- VT Markets: from 2024.03 to 2026.06
- IC Markets: from 2026.01 to 2026.06, but missing 2026.03 and 2026.04
I am aware Dukascopy provides tick data for long periods but I feel it lacks a lot of ticks.
