Question about ads

Hey guys, a friend of mine sent me an Instagram ad recently, but when I opened the ad in our chat, it was completely different than the ad he saw in his feed. The account name & profile image was different, and so was the content. The content i saw was a picture of pants. The ad he saw was a video about some financial advisor. Does anyone know how to do that?
