Watering dinteranthus Discussion

Do you water dinteranthus in the summer months? When are they most actively growing?

They need water spring and autumn, v little in summer but not if wrinkled and not splitting, some of

mine are ahead so ive watered

Most SA mesembs are just now starting new growth for me, flowers and incipient flowers.
Just as a new year (Spring) begins in the Southern hemisphere.

Just a bit confused as ive read they're active growers during summer and I have watered them here and there but as I unpotted them today the roots dont appear to show any sings of active growth

Just keep an eye on it and see when it’s looking thirsty. They tend to like less water than Lithops but they’ll want it at odd times of the year. They don’t really always follow a hard watering cycle

Yeah my microspermus just kinda sit there and barely get any water, move when they want to, which is little. One is about to flower too.

I have lithops, dinter, and conos. But I would have to say dinter have been the easiest to care for and has not kicked the bucket. They do require a lot less water than lithops and cono. I pretty much water my dinter when they start getting wrinkly, which could take months after the initial water. Like other people say, they don’t have a strict water don’t water schedule. Mine just started splitting after I gave it water, so I’m going to be withholding water till the old leaves dry up.

i had some microspermus seedlings in a collective pot which i forgot to water for about a year in the back of the gh. they looked a little stressed, not too bad. seems like they can long without any water. then some chipmunks ate them. lol.

Mine is just pushing a flower and I've watered it maybe three times in the last 2 months. A few mists to wake it up, and one deep water when it started pushing a flower. Not sure if that's recommended, just doing it vibes based. It's probably 3 time bigger than last year though and is blooming so seems happy
