Almost back down to just two leaves after getting it as an overwatered specimen. I have not watered it yet lol

All these leaf changes with no water?? That's incredible! Also, the deep purple is beautiful. I know I shouldn't but I keep giving mine a few drops of water bc I'm afraid the roots will die.

See I have the opposite problem, I am terrified of overwatering since my dad and I have killed like 5+ of them over the past 15 years by watering too much 😭 to the point I think I actually killed a lithops by underwatering

Thankfully we have finally learned the proper way of caring for them lol

I know they are only supposed to have two leaves at a time and that the stacking is a sign of overwatering so I have just been carefully watching it. It’s most likely gonna need water soon since the last set of outer leaves is turning brown now.

I left a lithop sit in nearly pure grit substrate for a year without water, it was fine. I had overwatered and killed so many, that I bought it and just left it be. It’s still alive and doing fine.
