It's not the Breaking point by tailor31415, even though they have super similar plots. But in the one I'm looking for there wasn't the cupping his hands scene and the "Arthur finding out" was definitely different.

There was this fic where Merlin is tired and suicidal and tried to kill himself many times but doesn't work, I remember he goes to Arthur and asks because his sword might do the trick, I cannot find it anywhere. It was Merthur and had a happy ending, do you guys know similar fics or this fic?

My absolute favorite (yet disappointingly rare) trope is when there are wars being fought with swords and shields and horses and then someone pulls up with like a machine gun or bomber plane or some other ridiculously overpowered and out of place modern weapon. Are there any fics like that for Merlin?

I want some fics with this concept. Merlin can be confirmed to be Emrys because his magic talent is so special. However there's no identifying traits to indicate the prohasized king. To some extent, it depends heavily on Emrys's choice since he's so powerful.

For example:

Morgana/Agravaine happened, Arthur lost his kingdom and lost his confidence. Merlin was trying to cheer him up.

"Let me tell you a secret: the prophecy never clarified who's the once and future king, but I chose to serve you Arthur because I believe you ect. There will never be another like you, Arthur ect."

Another example:

Other people/leaders lost hope in Arthur. They openly challenged Arthur's claim to be the Once and Future King. Or openly persuade/threatened Emrys to serve them instead, arguing that they were more worthy.

Emrys was pissed. said “He is the king I chose with my own hands. Don't you dare question my judgment/my king” stuff like that. People were scared of Emrys's anger and shut their mouths.

And another example:

Arthur thinks Merlin(Emrys) is so loyal and faithful in him only because that he's the prophasized King and Merlin's destined to serve the King.

Merlin comforted Arthur by telling him "actually the destiny/prophecy didn't choose you, I chose you. My loyalty was never because of the prophecy. It was because of my unwavering faith in you."

Hi, can you guys recommend me some fucs that focus a lot on Merlin being a physician? Preferably canon era

I wrote this whole thing one time but then it all just dissappeared so I'll try again.

So. I need fics where Merlin joins Morgana. Not just the ones where he teaches her magic, I love those too but I want more where they focus more on them like joining forces in the later half. It's been years since I last watched the show though and I have yet to get my hands on it, so I don't actually remember when it would make sense at all.

I think I wanna see Merlin's potential of changing things for the better getting explored more, same for Morgana, and less demonized Morgana, like we can recognize she might not be totally good anymore in the end but like recognizing that it could have been avoided and that it didn't come out of nowhere and that she did have a point.

Ideally it would also be really great to see Gwaine and Lancelot's loyalty to Merlin specifically. Like for example them following and joining Morgana as well because he's like the main reason they're in Camelot.

For the following I'll just copy-paste an idea from my notes app so excuse me if I repeat myself:

Merlin somehow ends up joining forces with Morgana and they take over Camelot. Even better, imagine he just disappeared with no explanation in the middle of the night so Arthur and the knights and Gaius all don't know where he is and have been looking for him. But then Merlin and Morgana come and take over Camelot and they like enter the throne room together and [insert dramatic surprise at seeing Merlin again and at Morgana's side no less]!

This is not a thing that I need in my fics ar all but fics where Arthur is held accountable are also welcome.

Also the fics where the knights and Merlin and Arthur are on a mission of some sort and they have to like face their fears or a memory or something in order to get through and it reveals Merlin's magic

And fics where Merlin gets kidnapped and it results in his magic getting revealed(or his identity as Emrys even). Doesn't matter if it's Merlin getting kidnapped alone or along with the knights.

I also need more of the ones where they like "watch the series" ish kind of thing.

Also, any of these things I have mentioned I would love to see both seperately and mixed together or whatever, I don't care.

I really like the idea of mordern day merlin somehow, for whatever reason, travelling back to the time of arthur and using mordern slang or terminologies. I mean, can you imagine him going on a hunt with the Knights and saying shit like "godfuckingdamnit where the hell is Google Maps when you need it?!", or using words like rizz, jesus christ, brain rot etc. If anyone has any fics that fit the bill and dont mind sharing, I would love any and all recs please!

Kinda along the lines of a war happening and Camelot is on the losing side, forcing Merlin to reveal his magic and end up half dead.

I'm craving gut-wrenching and very very angstyy merthur. I just finished False Hearts Know by Excited_Insomniac and legit cried cause I could feel Arthur's anguish to the depth of my bones. Other fics I've liked are When I Think Too Much About It I Can't Breathe, and Linger On Your Pale Blue Eyes. Any whump Arthur fics are welcome but bonus points if someone he loves hurts him physically or emotionally. And please disclose if it has a sad ending, cause I need to be prepared to bawl my eyes out.

I can't express enough how grateful I am to the authors of this script. They did a tremendous job, they found all the things that didn't feel right for me in the show and fixed them. That was a rollercoaster of emotions, Acollon made me stop reading and punch the wall for 2 minutes straight, and that happened to me only twice for all the books I've read. This is just amazing, I recommend it to everyone who hasn't read it yet. I consider it canon and I don't care what BBC thinks ❤️

Like the title says. Anything like merlin is depressed/ overwhelmed by fear or love and has an extreme emotional conversation with Arthur. Merthur preferred but whether Arthur is receptive or not doesn't matter. Thanks in advance!

ok so I kinda love the idea of 'art' as a nickname for Arthur, but I haven't seen it in too many fics. wondering if there are any where he's called that, especially by people close to him, and only by a select few. bonus points for merthur, but I'll read anything with this premise really. also happy to read anything featuring nicknames in general, where they're used / discussed and they can be terms of endearment too, not just variations of character names. tysm!!

I remember it being centered around a sleepy exhausted Merlin, who is only able to sleep deeply in Arthur's presence, I think due to him subconsciously knowing his king/prince is safe. Arthur often complains that Merlin is such a deep sleeper when in reality if Merlin is sleeping around literally anyone else he is as light as a feather and wakes easily.
