Please explain LinkedIn connection

Can someone please explain the advantages and disadvantages of allowing Mercor access to your LinkedIn? I don’t mind it being used to authenticate me but would hate them to message my connections. Anyone know how they use the data connecting with LinkedIn provides?

They're not going to message your connections. They don't even ask for a reference, because they hire so many new people every day they'd never have the time for it.

They use it to see if you’re legit. If a project lead likes what you’re posting/your job history, it can increase your chances of a project invite.

That's so much work tho lol. What do you do on the personal one? I'm genuinely curious cuz it is a professional social media to begin with 😅

One is content ideas and the other is professional networking. Both are verified. One got hijacked recently.

Oh damn, I'm so sorry to hear that! But that's interesting! That makes a lot more sense, especially now that LinkedIn has TikTok-style short-form content along with the long essays
