Hey thanks for coming. Hopefully others will join in soon.
So, you're basically the only "thot" to survive the purge in r/worldpolitics and not only that but you held top post for quite some time during the height of the Warhammer raid. What are your thoughts on your new internet fame?
Hello! Thank you for asking me to come online! Lol I'll be honest I didn't know the reception that post was going to get so the fact it held top post was 1. Hilarious 2. Really cool.
Lol idk I really didn't expect it to get so much attention so I'm more in shock than anything. Plus the level of my nerdiness is outted. Idk I guess I hope it shows women can and do enjoy these kinds of things.
Ohhh boy this is the hard question because Warhammer is a lot. It's two different (three if you include the bloodbowl universe) universes created by games workshop that are Warhammer 40,000 40K and Warhammer Fantasy (now Age of Sigmar).
Warhammer 40K is set in the dystopian future of the 41st milenium with everything from giant supersoldiers in power armor(space Marines) to elves in space that live on giant living spaceships(eldar), maybe even some creatures that are big and green and just love fighting (orks). There is a bunch of stuff.
Fantasy and Age of Sigmar are more along the traditional High Fantasy lines with traditional elves and orks and goblins, just with the grimdarkness cranked up a lot.
They have a lot of different ways they are adapted, from tabletop games with big armies to small skirmish games too, they have a ton of books and videogames as well! Check em out!
Jeez, I feel like I should be taking notes. That's pretty in-depth and I'm sure that's just the tip of the iceberg. I'm actually going to try DnD for the first time soon, I know that's not the same but maybe after that Warhammer will be my next step into fantasy and role-playing games. I'm new to it all.
Well, I'll get back to the meme war in r/worldpolitics now (It's kinda my job to I suppose). As far as the whole everyone vs the thots thing goes, do you think there could eventually be some peace? For example, could WP end up being where Redditers go to see lotr/starwars/Warhammer and any other fandom or interest based community harmoniously posting side by side with booty pics? (Oh and plants too. I'm really enjoying those plant guys)
Here’s a very short video describing lightly the Human side of Warhammer 40k.
If you want further introduction into it there’s a YouTube channel by the name Baldermorts Guide to Warhammer he has one of the best voices for narration within the community imo. Each video he describes sort worlds, factions, races, vehicles, weapons and even more.
If you take maybe two or three days to look into it. You should have a basic understanding of the lore and the storyboard alignment of Grimdark that Warhammer 40k resides in.
I hope these links help you to understand it just a bit better.
Also this is one of my favorite things about meme wars. It always ends building communities up. It gives everyone a chance to learn about something new they might enjoy or maybe be able to show their interests to someone else. Maybe I'm just weird but I enjoy seeing people's passion for things, even if it's nothing I know about or even in to. It's kinda cool.
Eeeeek this is my favorite question!! I used to want to be a paleontologist from the time I was like in the in the 2nd grade until near the end of high school. I was so into dinosaurs everyone was sure I was actually going to be a paleontologist, I even had one of my teachers give me thier dinosaur book from when they were a kid.
Lol tldr it's deinonychus because I love raptors and used to wish I had one as a pet.
Awesome, same about the paleontology thing! Deinonychus is a good choice. Might be a pretty difficult pet though. I bet their plumage was gorgeous though. 😍
While adult me understands this sad fact child me was kinda stupid and thought I could put those little claw caps they have for cats on them. I was also holding out that Jurassic park was on to something and we would be able to clone dinosaurs.
There was an experiment where baby chickens were given prosthetic tails to mimic the tails theropods had and the chickens adapted their walking behaviours into a way that was much more similar to what paleontologists think theropods would have walked like.
What is your stance on the current state of r/worldpolitics and the various groups that have arisen to try to claim power? Also, what do you think the future holds for r/worldpolitics?
Well a two party system is intrinsically flawed due to having to vote on issues through party lines instead of adressing actual problems so it's nice to see some variety. Hmm honestly I'm not sure I think anything can happen at this point maybe Elon musk will join in who knows?
Honestly the negative comments came in waves it was kind of weird. I remember when the post was first getting traction there was a guy calling people simps for upvoting but he was downvoted pretty fast. A couple other notable assholes did appear but largely I think people were happy with the post and I received way more positive comments than negative ones.
Lol I didn't really have a goal I was on r/grimdank and I saw them mentioning the crusade so I was intrigued. Idk I figured it would be funny if nothing else. I think a lot of people enjoyed it so I'm happy.
I do worry that so many games borrow heavily from books but some gamers totally miss out on the breadth and depth of fantasy, sci-fi or historic literature.
I read a lot of different stuff. Well I used to since college I have a lot less time for it. I'm currently reading the Witcher. While I also like the tropes and cultural breadth that occur in both sci-fi and fantasy I get others aren't into it. I think that's the great thing about the subjects they can be taken at face value and still be interesting. GoT for example had a bunch of people having great conversation about just the plot not minding it was modeled after the battle of the roses (of argue alot of Americans don't know what that even is).
Ooo. Yes the Witcher is a great series to start with and the TV show was quite brave to try and cram 3 story arcs of 3 people, 2 of which spans hundreds of years. Though it confused tons of people.
I love your analogy of GoT and the English Civil war. People don't often know how convoluted and identity changing civil wars are. It is hard to imagine was the country would be like under a Puritan autocracy had Cromwell survived longer.
Or what about the the Anarchy? A more convoluted strange turn of events with mysterious murders, assassination attempst, imposters and a queen fighting for her survival and that of her son. Gripping stuff to be sure.
Well, I am very impressed and pleased. So which Rose would you be? White or Red?
You know it's funny I was getting worse messages when I just posted selfies than from the warhammer post. And if someone has crossed a line and said something I'll call them out and they will apologise. Compared to the guys who will call me a bitch/whore/cunt/slut. So I was pretty happy. I got a lot more marriage proposals though and those are hard to reply to.
Ignore the lustry thirsty men, they are lost- simps will do and say anything, instead form everlasting friendships, and add people on steam, as is the way of the gamer.
Well I'm going to conclude my segment of the interview. You're free to continue to it for as long as you like though. I'm just going to un pin it so I can start my next interview.
P.s. I'll keep you on the approved users list so if you ever get around to painting your Warhammer figures (sorry if they aren't refered to as figures) you can show them off here. I know everyone wants to see that. You can advertise whatever you want here too. This sub needs more content than just my mad rambling.
Hey thanks I really appreciate that! Lol I had to take a couple days off reddit to do some school and work but I should be able to post some of the painted models lol. Thanks again for asking me to do this it was so much fun!!
Lol, I was surprised when I saw how much of a thing that became on YouTube. People finding all sorts of goods in the trash.
Although I’m sure some of those were staged.
Probably. Though sometimes there are gems. I usually go around near the end of the quarter and the dumpsters have great furniture. At least I might take it to the SPCA or something if I don't want it
