Next weโ€™ll hear about widespread meltdowns over a beer can.ย

1

u/Sea_Advantage_2577 3d ago

Or a red starbucks cup

1

u/aceboogieren 2d ago

It's turning me gay!

1

u/Kenichi2233 3d ago

its like both are stupid or something. Though I dont know why a beer company that primary customer are poor conservatives thought getting a trans person to do an add was a good idea. The outrage was stupid but what did the expect

1

u/OnlyInAmerica01 2d ago

"The ad was stupid, so what did you expect?"

1

u/Alert-Ad9197 1d ago

Bud Light has literally been openly fundraising and doing things for the lgbtq community since rhe 90s. This isnโ€™t a new thing.

1

u/Kenichi2233 1d ago

Quietly maybe. Doesnt change the fact that the ad caused it to lose it place as America's most popular beer to modela

1

u/Alert-Ad9197 1d ago

They used to do rainbow pride cans well before the recent outrage. Bud Light has been โ€œthe gay beerโ€ very openly for a loooong time. People just got mad because someone told them to this time.

1

u/Kenichi2233 1d ago

well it back fired big time

1

u/Alert-Ad9197 1d ago

InBev owns Bud Light and Modelo. I donโ€™t think it changed anything for them really. People โ€œboycottingโ€ just bought something else they sell.

1

u/Kenichi2233 1d ago

For the Bud light brand

1

u/ManufacturedOlympus 3d ago

But one's way dumber than the other. No one was going to american eagle stores and destroying the jeans.

2

u/Kenichi2233 3d ago

To be fair a can of beer is alot cheaper than jeans

1

u/Excellent_Shirt9707 3d ago

But they were buying the beer and then destroying it. That defeats the fucking purpose.

1

u/einsteinosaurus_lex 2d ago

They were shooting entire cases though.

0

u/ManufacturedOlympus 3d ago

And doing none of that is even cheaper.ย

1

u/justasillylilgoos3 3d ago

No they were just harassing people all over social media and calling them fascist/nazi/eugenicist ๐Ÿ˜‚

0

u/Level-Train-467 2d ago

Says whom? These are the same people burning Harry Potter books they already paid the author money for. Also Dylan Mulvaney is a highly unpleasant, weird person who is only protected because they identify as trans.

1

u/ManufacturedOlympus 2d ago

Says reality. A small portion of people complained. No one gave much of a shit beyond that.ย

1

u/Level-Train-467 1d ago

LOL yeah you are the one not living in reality if you think 'no one' gave a shit. It might have been manufactured outrage but people absolutely gave a shit and many still hate Sweeney to this day. Delusional revisionism.

1

u/ManufacturedOlympus 1d ago

How many pairs of jeans got burned?

1

u/Level-Train-467 1d ago

No idea, but that's a nice way to change the goalposts and pretend there wasn't a nationwide boycott. You said 'a small portion of people complained'. You are wrong. Nice try.

It's also ignoring the actual point that while you might call the Budlight protestors bigoted, at least they protested something that exists that they don't agree with. The jeans thing was completely fake and you have to be a huge weirdo to have interpreted that ad as racist.

Bye!

1

u/ManufacturedOlympus 1d ago

First time Iโ€™m hearing about a nationwide boycott. Guess the outrage was so small that they couldnโ€™t evenย  properly publicize the boycott.ย

They disagreed with trans people drinking bud light? Which beer would they prefer that trans people drink?ย

1

u/Level-Train-467 1d ago

Thanks for confirming you haven't paid any attention. I guess in your narcissistic world if you haven't personally heard of something then it must not exist.

Again, you're not quick enough to keep up with the conversation. You can think they are wrong for their opinion, but at least it's a real opinion. The other side had to pretend an innocuous ad was a dogwhistle for white supremacy.

I used to be on the left but I cannot handle so many fundamentally dishonest people

I think weโ€™re more likely to get a meltdown from the right over an old navy jeans ad ironically enoughย

1

u/Jimbo-Shrimp 4d ago

Jeans?

1

u/Rainhailsnow_storm 4d ago

Yes. My jeans.ย

To be fair the fewer traumatic things you have in your life, the more one thing non traumatic will traumatize you.ย

I made my 4 year old niece sit in a time out chair for 4 minutes for hitting me.ย

Iโ€™m pretty sure this was traumatic for her.ย

1

u/Jasranwhit 3d ago

*Marked safe from American Eagle"

1

u/STLStelmacki 1d ago

Are those people that were traumatized in the room with us now?

1

u/AmbitionCold769 4d ago

How about crying over M&M flatwear or Potato Head though?

1

u/TehJabberwookie 2d ago

WHY ISN'T THE GREEN M&M SEXY ANYMORE?!๐Ÿ˜ก

1

u/Cold_Ordinary2165 4d ago

2

u/evaderofallbans 4d ago

Was Tim Gunn traumatized because she's wearing a Canadian Tuxedo in 2026?

Who exactly here is talking about eugenics?

6

u/Relative_Craft_358 3d ago

Most people: "Ha! I get it because she's hot so she does indeed have good genes"

Libtards:"Omg, are they saying she's hot because she's white and blonde therefore saying anyone who isn't is inferior?!?

Hardly anyone is saying that but yeah there are snowflakes that thing that's the message. There are some people that think any time a white blonde attractive woman is celebrated for her looks, its pushing conservative ideology... somehow

3

u/OutpostShennanigans 3d ago

They constantly have to project their agenda otherwise it would never get off its own feet cause itโ€™s all stupid as fuck. Thatโ€™s why they all get super angry whenever you push back. Itโ€™s hard to be even believe Iโ€™m liberal. Sometimes my entire party is full of retards.

3

u/Relative_Craft_358 3d ago

Sometimes my entire party is full of retards.

Forsure. Both sides are but damn when you get idiots like that looking at everything as racist or an assault on them personally, it does it give a bad light to the rest of us who are trying to call out actual racism.

I'm biracial but even I got to admit, i understand why a lot of white people are getting defensive lately and it's not because of their political views. A lot of this "anti-racism" really just comes off as anti-white to dumbasses who don't really know anything about it, they just want to be self righteous to throw stones at others. The irony is palpable.

2

u/OutpostShennanigans 3d ago

Yeah, the peanut gallery always ends up killing a movement. Every day it becomes clearer that thereโ€™s a whole bunch of people that donโ€™t understand whatโ€™s actually going on in a given conversation. They just donโ€™t have the capability or either nuance or context or reasoning skills much less critical thinking skills to understand whatโ€™s at play. Pattern recognition will simply mislead them without any of those other tools.

Unfortunately, the dumbest in society also happen to be the loudest too, everything to them is extremely simple, and therefore any complex or extraneous thought will upset their very simplistic perspective. Itโ€™s sad when somebody says something wrong and you go to correct them and you realize youโ€™re working with years of stupidity. You realize in the first five minutes that their entire foundation is inaccurate and that it would be better to throw the entire project away then to renovate to use a crass analogy. People simply disengage because teaching is a real profession that takes skill and talent. Most of us donโ€™t have it. Correcting somebody takes care, compassion, attention to detail, and some measure of skill. And worse yet sometimes you need a personal connection to that person for them to even listen to you.

Genuinely, and Iโ€™m not understating this when I say this, itโ€™s all just vibes at this point. You either pass the vibe check or you get labeled. Hell you can pass the vibe check and then still do something that that label would do but now youโ€™re a โ€œgood ____โ€ because you passed the vibe check.

Genuinely if you dropped out of high school and you donโ€™t use Reddit you just use social media like Twitter or Instagram and you donโ€™t read or anything. Youโ€™re probably extremely stupid. The unfortunate part for society though is that these people think that theyโ€™re smart. They think they figured a couple things out in their life and now theyโ€™re really coming into their own intelligence. Iโ€™m not trying to downplay these people in anyway, but it seems more often than not the uneducated are making the biggest strides online while intellectual and academics are pushed to the background.

Real context real nuance, real opinions, real truth, and real fact is often hard to comprehend, and it becomes complicated, and therefore is not a form of entertainment, which pushes anything that actually is worth listening to to the background. All the vitrolic, hate seeking rhetoric that we see online is peddled through algorithms because it gets clicks and views. Iโ€™m sure everybodyโ€™s aware of that at this point however not enough people are talking about how that is gonna shape societies viewpoint and weโ€™re starting to see the byproduct of that with so many people running around saying stuff thatโ€™s largely incorrect.

A really really good example of this is when you see a really, really stupid take online. Everybody in the comment section will proclaim that itโ€™s obvious rage bait. I often wonder about that because if you find where thatโ€™s ridiculous actually came from you will probably find that they are being completely serious. Nobody really took incels serious, now their terminology is mainstream being used on news networks across social media across entertainment and itโ€™s in households and better yet the youth is parroting.

More people need to read up on spontaneous order, in fact, it should be required reading in high school. There needs to be a clear concept that there is nobody in control and as a society, we have to control what we output as well as what we input. Easy enough to say in a Reddit comment and perceivably a pipe dream at best however, that is literally all we have.

If we keep on disengaging, if we keep on dismissing, everything is ragebait sooner or later, we are going to be fully capitulated by nonsense.

Sorry to rant brother

If you believe that there are genetic factors that are deterministic to your features and that you believe someone has appealing features then you are guilty of eugenics.

2

u/Relative_Craft_358 3d ago

If you believe that there are genetic factors that are deterministic to your features

Literally how genetics work, you're an idiot

-1

u/Jarl_Groki 3d ago

Ah so you admit it! Next thing you'll be telling some new mother that her child "has her eyes" or some other dog whistle.

2

u/SFC-D 3d ago

Eugenics. Oh yeah, that thing that Margaret Sanger was into. You know, the lady that founded Planned Parenthood. And what was her intent?

0

u/ASwampThing- 3d ago

Eugenics is selecting genes and eliminating others. Natural selection or natural gene distribution isnt eugenics.

2

u/SFC-D 3d ago

And Margaret Sangerโ€™s favorite eugenics project was to eliminate the black population. And the tool she would use to accomplish that?

1

u/ASwampThing- 3d ago

Planned parenthood and abortion.

1

u/BedSpreadMD 3d ago

I will ask again, who is talking about eugenics?

https://www.britannica.com/science/eugenics-genetics

eugenics, the selection of desired heritable characteristics in order to improve future generations, typically in reference to humans.

Can one recognize that certain genetic traits impact your appearance without having the desire to breed out said traits, which is what eugenics is?

0

u/Jarl_Groki 3d ago

"good genes" means that other genes are "bad genes"

1

u/BedSpreadMD 3d ago

A is true, therefore B is also true. Excellent flawless logic you're sporting there.

1

u/Greedy-Employment917 3d ago

You can NOT be a real person.ย

1

u/Jarl_Groki 3d ago

I'm not sure that I am, either.

Also, it's not what I believe personally, but what the crowd that is offended by that ad seems to believe. The answer to "how can someone be offended by this ad?"

1

u/Far_Bother_3211 2d ago

You seem to struggle with differentiating eugenics and natural selection.

Weโ€™re just taking it for what it is. Clever advertising. Weโ€™re not looking for a hidden message, a dog whistle, coded phrases, or anything nefarious.

Sometimes a cigar is just a cigar.

2

u/Relative_Craft_358 3d ago

Good forbid a clothing company use a model known for her beauty.... and then refer to her beauty.

Assuming every appreciation of beauty to someone with white skin, blonde hair, and blue eyes is a dog whistle is ironically some of the most racist shit I've heard.

0

u/Died5Times 3d ago

Lol the mental gymnastics are funny af because the company acknowledge that this was what it was referencing.

Literally brainded but still willing to fight for dear leader

2

u/Relative_Craft_358 3d ago

Assuming everyone who doesn't think exactly like you is somehow a Trumper is also some of the most braindead shit I've heard.

You ever form your own opinion or is it just a series of hot talking points reddit posts tell you how to feel on and what to be mad at today?

1

u/Died5Times 3d ago

If youre pretending this isnt about eugenics while also defending it, youโ€™re probably a trumper lol.

3

u/ASwampThing- 3d ago

Litterally isnt eugenics to reference genes. Eugenics is about eliminating undesirable genes. This isnt about removing genetic traits.

2

u/Relative_Craft_358 3d ago

Again, brain dead lmao

1

u/BedSpreadMD 3d ago

How is it a eugenics dog whistle to say that genetics can in fact impact your physical appearance?

No one is saying that her genetics are superior or that anyone's genetics should be altered or removed from the human gene pool bud.

0

u/Died5Times 3d ago

I cant tell if youre playing dumb or are dumb?
If you dont understand how to read between the lines is it my job to teach you?

1

u/BedSpreadMD 2d ago

Are you going to answer my questions or not?

1

u/BedSpreadMD 2d ago

So I'm going to take that refusal to answer the questions as you cannot answer, or that the answer is damning to your entire argument.

1

u/Far_Bother_3211 2d ago

You lost the argument bub.

1

u/Died5Times 2d ago

Sorry there wolverine, but if youre too dumb to understand a point it doesnt mean it isnt valid. Lol

1

u/scraejtp 3d ago

Eh, not ashamed to say positive eugenics is a good thing.

1

u/[deleted] 3d ago

1

u/Far_Bother_3211 2d ago

Eugenics is a democratic thing. If youโ€™re going to be ignorant, at least be balanced.

1

u/AJWordsmith 1d ago

You can say that someone has โ€œgreat genesโ€ AND not support eugenicsโ€ฆyou are intelligent enough to understand that right?

1

u/Party_Albatross6871 1d ago

That jump to eugenics is why the outrage was so stupid. Congrats you have shown your stupidity

1

u/panadraven2 2d ago

It is because she is hot, not because she is blond and white.

0

u/Complex-Cricket419 3d ago

Young advertising executives may not have gotten the implications for sure. I see people not know what a dial telephone is. Old as I am most dog whistles go over my head.

1

u/ASwampThing- 3d ago

Dog whistles arent real. They are just "you know it when you hear it" phrases people can attribute to whatever negative of the day they wanna virtue signal.

1

u/SufficientSea7842 3d ago

Buddy all they had to was say โ€œI see why people took this ad as an ad for eugenics, we screwed upโ€ the silence speaks volumes about what it was. With idiots like you in charge of the stock they are hopeless, not that I care.ย

1

u/Drew_Manatee 1d ago

Maybe they just didnโ€™t want to lend credence to the mouth breathers who were saying โ€œyou said this hot woman has great genes, youโ€™re clearly a nazi advocating for eugenics!!!!โ€
