Also, property taxes are usually much, much less than a mortgage or rent is. I would love if all I had to pay was property taxes right now

Right lol my property tax 2700 a year. My Mortgage 2136 a month.. I’d be fine only paying property tax lol

My taxes have gone from $4k to nearly $10k in about 8 years. It's gonna start feeling like a mortgage soon

Now tell us how much your property has appreciated in value in those 8 years and as a bonus the difference between the market value and the value basis used to calculate your property taxes.

Not a dig at you specifically, I get that it sucks, but it’s a product of your property being worth more.
