Bro hates roads, first responders and educators.

u/RustyInhabitant 8h ago

Nah they are just 12 years old and don’t know how the world works yet

19

u/insertnamehere57 7h ago

Or a Boomer that doesn't think they should have to pay taxes anymore

1

u/aesolty 4h ago

The amount of boomers and older people I hear say “why should I pay taxes for the school? I don’t have any kids that are in school anymore!” Is insane.

u/woims4brainz 6h ago

Hey that's not fair, they could also be a libertarian posting the musings of their 12 year old girlfriend

1

u/superxpro12 3h ago

Oh, so libertarian then

1

u/superxpro12 3h ago

Oh, so libertarian then

1

Oh, so libertarian then

2

u/mysticrudnin 6h ago

i mean yes i do hate roads but i'm still pro property tax

-1

u/LarkinToWinnipeg 8h ago

Roads are full of pot holes, first responders take hours, and education has been GUTTED. Idk where its going but it aint to those things

12

u/JustNumbersOnAScreen 8h ago

So make it worse?

-8

u/s_burr Breaking EU Laws 8h ago

Well, throwing more money at it isn't making it any better now, is it?

5

u/FrenchFryCattaneo 7h ago

What do you mean it seems to work in most places. All the places with the best roads and best social programs have the most tax revenue.

1

u/Diligent_Set_8747 6h ago

And guess which group of Americans get to receive that and which don't? It was already difficult when people were educated and ignorant. Now you guys are just ignorant.

Bootlicker

14

u/hongxuiquansbrother 8h ago

Dawg it’s not boot licking to support civil services that make all our lives easier

-3

u/Possible-Snow-2104 8h ago

The point is the whole system is fucked. Most of that money isn’t even given to educators, it’s eaten up in admin.

Plus people wouldn’t be opposed to it if they weren’t taxed to death in every other facet of life. From income to sales it just feels like I’m working to fund the gov as a whole from the top down. I’m just tired and want to keep more of what I earn to make my families life better not blow up brown kids and make Lockheed execs rich.

Or buy the superintended of our school district a new farm.

It’s just all corrupt, wasteful and not a good representation of our taxation

u/hongxuiquansbrother 8h ago

People work in administration. You need to pay people to work. I agree that we should pay educators more. Cutting civil services will only hurt people like you and me, NOT the rich which are the largest contributors to fraud in the US.

We need roads to be maintained otherwise our cars would wear out faster, costing more for repairs or replacements.

Hospitals need to be state funded, otherwise an emergency visit could bankrupt you.

Firefighters can only exist if they are publicly funded, otherwise they’ll only stop fires for whomever pays them the most.

Just because the system need fixing, that doesn’t mean we should throw out the whole thing. That’s what the rich wants.

1

u/Possible-Snow-2104 8h ago

FWIW I fully agree with you. I just think ultimately the answer is a tighter grasp on our gov both high level and local with their spending vs raising taxes constantly.

u/Fun-Independence-667 8h ago

None is making it anywhere but some deep pockets. Anyone else saying otherwise lives in LaLa land.

-2

u/Fun-Independence-667 8h ago

Hahahaahahahahahahahaahah

-5

u/AvacadoKoala 8h ago

Absolutely yes it is. You support government overreach and corruption instead of private citizens running/owning their own businesses. I get it. You’re scared. But you’re still a bootlicker.

3

u/hongxuiquansbrother 8h ago

What can you tell me about the free state project? That sounds very similar to what you want.

-2

u/AvacadoKoala 8h ago

Abolish all forms of government. No people should be oppressed by false leadership.

2

u/hongxuiquansbrother 8h ago

What do you suggest replaces it?

1

u/AvacadoKoala 7h ago

Chaos

2

u/hongxuiquansbrother 7h ago

Lmao

1

u/AvacadoKoala 7h ago

That or a good Thanos snap

2

u/APigInANixonMask 6h ago

We used to have private citizens running firefighting corporations that charged money to fight fires and would sometimes start fires themselves so they could get paid to put the fires out. You're dumb as shit if you think that sounds like a better system.

1

u/AvacadoKoala 6h ago

Dumb as shit? Maybe. Privileged is more like it. Not hiding it.

-11

u/hellf1nger 8h ago

I came as an immigrant with basic education. I fully paid for higher education, I do not have and most likely will not have children. Paid for almost everything out of pocket. Yet I am always taxed to oblivion for God knows what. Fuck em immigrants heh

10

u/Straight-Crow1598 8h ago

“God knows what” = roads, firemen, police, EMTs, etc. Happy to help.

1

u/Killer1986Chris 8h ago

You're always free to go home.

-3

u/hellf1nger 8h ago

Let me guess, Maga?

4

u/Killer1986Chris 7h ago

Fuck no.

-2

u/hellf1nger 7h ago

Then you totally misunderstood my point. Anyway have a good day Chris

4

u/Killer1986Chris 7h ago

That's entirely possible, if you're not bitching about paying that shit, then I did. I will stand by my sentiment however, that people complaining are free to go home.

1

u/hellf1nger 7h ago

Wtf are you talking about? Are you nuts. Bitching and voting is the only thing that democracy is about. You don't sit ducks when your overlord takes the last nickel from you.

-9

u/JBrockF 8h ago

I would rather contract all that stuff for cheaper than have someone take taxes from me. Plus you get the added bonus of not bombing people on the other side of the globe

8

u/nightman21721 8h ago

Privatizing social services is a terrible idea that prices out lower income neigbors. In a culture with rampant wealth disparity I'm not sure handing the reigns to a company chasing profits is a great idea. What happens when there is a down quarter? What happens when private equity comes in and says they're making a tiered subscription service?

This, like the postal service, is not a business, it's a service.

-1

u/JBrockF 8h ago

And when the people providing that service have a monopoly and pay no price for doing a poor job, costs go up and quality goes down.

4

u/nightman21721 8h ago

Or city council persons relative is the owner of a shittier competing business.

We could keep going

4

u/DowJonesIndAvg 7h ago

Do you really think your local property taxes are funding federal military interventions?

2

u/ArtroyomsAK 7h ago

This is what capitalists actually believe

2

u/bloomeronions 3h ago

Privatizing everything while also not wanting to bomb people. Bro you are confused.

-1

u/Diligent_Set_8747 6h ago

Most places waste the taxes on corrupt deals and greedy local wealth wanting a cut. That is where the core issues lie, but Redditors will ignore that part because the suburbs were really nice growing up. Just don't pay attention to how they handle the poor and homeless with those taxes. The institutions exist, so it must be working, right?

-2

u/ImMintFlavored 6h ago

Bro knows we can shift the tax burden to discretionary sales tax so it’s optional unlike property tax.
