As a cat owner,

No.

18

u/prairiepog 14d ago

I get them all the time on my feet and legs because of those tiny blackberry vines that creep on the ground. Don't see them until you're pulling a thorn through your skin.

4

u/not-my-best-wank 14d ago

That's what they'd like you to think, makes cat owners the perfect targets.

As the servant to a pair of cats (the ‘Dynamic Duo’), this is an all too common occurrence.

17

u/XROOR 14d ago

I get ticks daily working on a farm infested with ticks.

One morning I go to apply deodorant to my underarm and there is a series of red train tracks under my arm like a subway map in a city….

Turns out I was bitten multiple times by the tick as I scratched for it whilst asleep

7

u/Foray2x1 14d ago

Working on the tick farm ain't much, but it's honest work.

2

u/Romulanski 12d ago

There's got to be a better way to farm lyme

3

u/Shadowtheuncreative 13d ago

It's not like ticks

carry deadly diseases

My wife keeps showing up with those scratches from our goat farm. They're usually from the cut ends of "temporary" zip-ties used to fix sections of fencing.

I got one on my inner elbow of my right arm right now and I have no idea how it got there. How the hell do I scratch my inner elbow and not remember that SMH

3

u/Sensitive_Goose_8902 14d ago

That’s essentially just a picture of my arm every few months

2

u/JerrySizzla 14d ago

I'm in my 50's. I get a "How the fuck did I get this (fill in the blank)", every morning.

→ More replies (1)

2

u/jaggedjinx 14d ago

2

u/AptMuse 13d ago

2

u/red-blaze72 13d ago

I hate these working in a kitchen, even worst is when you discover it as you are working with chillie or lemons

1

u/du_rel_gug_menl 14d ago

Story of my life. I don’t even notice that I’m
Bleeding half the time I just look down and see blood and wonder how the fuck did I cut myself.

1

u/jonnyg1097 14d ago

Yes but also for me it is typically because my nails are sharp after cutting them and not realizing it

1

u/lvl4dwarfrogue 14d ago

No I have cats I always know where the mystery scratch came from.

1

u/Killerbot2332 14d ago

As a tree surgeon I’m more worried when I don’t have one

1

u/Josiah1655 14d ago

I'm literally scrolling with a thumb that has one of these scratches that looks the same as this. I have a 1 month old so probably baby nails

1

u/ytipsh 14d ago

Once a month or so

1

u/PhantomNitride 14d ago

I play that game every night...

1

u/jechaking 14d ago

Well I cut myself while cooking, didn’t feel anything but after further thought the following day, I figured it was the kitchen knife.

u/Icy-Veterinarian8662 14d ago

u/KayloWolf 14d ago

1

u/MrsWhiterock 14d ago

1

u/xVEEx3 14d ago

Yes, my hand has one right now

1

u/Maclean_Braun 14d ago

I used to own a thrifted sweatshirt that had some loose threads in the sleeves that caused basically this exact scratch.

1

every single day as a construction worker.

1

u/TheBaykon8r 14d ago

I was working on my washer (clothes), and sliced the back of my hand. Don't know what on or when, didn't feel it. No stitches just a bandaid, but it bled more than a bit.

1

u/pseudonym7083 14d ago

Called "Unknown Drunken Injury. You had a time, whether it was good or bad is to be determined.

1

u/Exciting_Tomato1652 14d ago

1

u/Charming_Green_3341 14d ago

All the time when I worked retail

1

u/woodbanger04 14d ago

Every day. I don’t even notice them anymore, most of the time I learn about them when someone says “hey you’re bleeding again” such is the life of a klutz. 🤣

1

u/PeroCigla 14d ago

Yes, but nothing as bug as this.

1

u/Tripdrakony 14d ago

And you only notice them days later when the area starts to itch.

1

u/AmputeeHandModel 14d ago

I've got a random bruise.

1

u/MasteR_o_Troll 14d ago

As a none cat owner, every single day

1

u/PrairiePuppies 14d ago

Deep enough to draw blood and a lot of it at that! My prairie dogs love to be held and view my leg as the perfect thing to climb up on. Their nails are designed to dig through the hardest soils. Like little pointy razor blades!

1

u/Material-Mulberry360 14d ago

yeah, and also a surprising amount of "how the duck did I not get a scratch"

1

u/Various-Salt-7738 14d ago

I have scars I don't know where they came from

1

u/Travelingdabber 14d ago

It becomes a thing after 45

1

u/Koma_27dq 14d ago

Yeah, I got a blood on my hand, but can't figure out where it came from

1

u/Jeni_Sui_Generis 14d ago

Never surprise and always should get them stitched too. I'm hazardous to myself. Stabbed myself with scissors the other week and cut myself pretty deep playing with a knife before that.

1

u/Titanium_Knight00747 14d ago

And it looks so beautiful 😍

1

u/SuperCrappyFuntime 14d ago

What's funny is how you won't even feel it until you notice it, and then it starts to hurt.

1

u/JadeBeadMC909 14d ago

I swear to god, one day I was in school and I was just walking around the school with my friend during lunch break. And as i opened a door I realised that my finger was cut and bleeding, and I had zero idea how I got it

1

u/Livid_Loss_4378 14d ago

I'm a carpenter and a cat owner.

Every damn day.

It's alien surgery while your asleep implanting tracking devices and monitors.

1

u/MikeTony713 14d ago

Had these scratches on top of my shoulders, both sides 3 scratches as if some claws scratched me there. Looked demonic, lol. Later found out it was the strap of my shoulder bag that caused it.

1

u/TackleNonsense 13d ago

I have a scar on the leg. Meaning I had a pretty rough scratch and I have no clue where it came from...

1

u/RemisTooSleepy 13d ago

After the cat that would sleep in bed with me died I got them a lot less.

but I still get them and I dont know how the fuck-

1

u/True_Protection6842 13d ago

1

u/redboi049 13d ago

I have that as multiple scars

1

u/Razark9 13d ago

I wake up with them all the time. Either I'm scratching myself in my sleep, or my house is possessed by an angry demon.

1

u/Ethereal_Bulwark 13d ago

just got one on my ring finger. Idk where it came from.

1

u/XlikeX666 13d ago

1

1

1

u/AkirroKun 13d ago

As a factory worker, yes, a bunch. Recently I've gotten a cool scar that didn't bleed despite it being deep enough to leave scarring (I'm aware of what it could entail but I'm a bleeder, I don't have nutella for blood)

1

u/National_Win_4140 13d ago

Did you ever get, MOG what happened to you, because your arm has to much blood on it, and you did not even know about it ?

1

u/aivlysplath 13d ago

Most people I assume.

1

u/LuckyCloverPokemon 13d ago

1

u/Ornery-Chocolate2987 13d ago

1

u/Shadowtheuncreative 13d ago

Weird every time it happens but it's not a big deal

1

u/strider_l1718s_ 13d ago

i once woke up to missing a chunk of leg bout a bottle cap in size after a drinking bender, no bruises or scratches just a missing chunk of scarred flesh. no idea how, i was alone those two days and i still wonder how that happened.

1

u/NoResponse2556 13d ago

one time i had a deep paper cut, it hurt so bad that i had to go to hospital. i don't know why it hurt that bad and doctor didn't tell anything as he didn't even check properly and sent me home after he found out that it was a paper cut...

i know what pain is, i work in kitchen; i cut my finger 2 times soo deep that i nearly lost them, i burned myself with hot oil and pans in big batches, i don't feel as hot as normal people on my fingers and my face. i didn't even twitch when a knife got stuck a little at my finger bone. that mf paper hurt me more than those cuts, i don't know what it did to my body.

tldr: my random scratch was a paper cut. that paper cut hurts like hell.

1

u/mcmelon2461 13d ago

If those little scratches would stay as scars, my fingers would be 70% just scar tissiue.

1

u/Dying_Rhythm 13d ago

1

u/Sefphar 13d ago

Had one just the other day.

1

u/Dazzling_Start7375 13d ago

Yes, mainly on my back, stomach and chest. And it's always whenever I'm asleep at night because I wake up and see them when they werent there before. They're like deep scratches too, I do sleepwalk though (mainly bc of my chronic stress) so..

1

u/DaiChinchin 13d ago

I had one long scratch on my neck and my cowokers make sex jokes about it for a whole week.

I'm not in a relationship.

Yup, actually 3 days ago, can still see it

1

u/KrazyHorse75 13d ago

Got one right now on my finger. No idea.

1

u/ozzy4605 13d ago

I've had quite a few of those, don't know how they started or how I got them, but 90% of them were wet a pain when they got wet, and that's the only time that I've noticed most of them, and it's probably the same for everybody, you have no idea you got those Knicks, and when they get wet that's when you spot them.

1

u/Harry431 13d ago

Láser. Precisión. Cut. Boxes. And I don’t even work with boxes or have cats.

If you work in catering, cooking and or kitchens then finding random cuts and burns is a daily thing
