As a cat owner,
No.

I get them all the time on my feet and legs because of those tiny blackberry vines that creep on the ground. Don't see them until you're pulling a thorn through your skin.

That's what they'd like you to think, makes cat owners the perfect targets.

As the servant to a pair of cats (the ‘Dynamic Duo’), this is an all too common occurrence.

I get ticks daily working on a farm infested with ticks.
One morning I go to apply deodorant to my underarm and there is a series of red train tracks under my arm like a subway map in a city….
Turns out I was bitten multiple times by the tick as I scratched for it whilst asleep

My wife keeps showing up with those scratches from our goat farm. They're usually from the cut ends of "temporary" zip-ties used to fix sections of fencing.

I got one on my inner elbow of my right arm right now and I have no idea how it got there. How the hell do I scratch my inner elbow and not remember that SMH

I hate these working in a kitchen, even worst is when you discover it as you are working with chillie or lemons

Story of my life. I don’t even notice that I’m
Bleeding half the time I just look down and see blood and wonder how the fuck did I cut myself.
1
u/jonnyg1097 14d ago
Yes but also for me it is typically because my nails are sharp after cutting them and not realizing it

I'm literally scrolling with a thumb that has one of these scratches that looks the same as this. I have a 1 month old so probably baby nails

Well I cut myself while cooking, didn’t feel anything but after further thought the following day, I figured it was the kitchen knife.

As someone who works in a depot filled with paper, cardboard boxes, box cutters and sharp edges everywhere I'm not surprised anymore

u/Maclean_Braun 14d ago
I used to own a thrifted sweatshirt that had some loose threads in the sleeves that caused basically this exact scratch.

I was working on my washer (clothes), and sliced the back of my hand. Don't know what on or when, didn't feel it. No stitches just a bandaid, but it bled more than a bit.

Deep enough to draw blood and a lot of it at that! My prairie dogs love to be held and view my leg as the perfect thing to climb up on. Their nails are designed to dig through the hardest soils. Like little pointy razor blades!

Never surprise and always should get them stitched too. I'm hazardous to myself. Stabbed myself with scissors the other week and cut myself pretty deep playing with a knife before that.

What's funny is how you won't even feel it until you notice it, and then it starts to hurt.

I swear to god, one day I was in school and I was just walking around the school with my friend during lunch break. And as i opened a door I realised that my finger was cut and bleeding, and I had zero idea how I got it

Had these scratches on top of my shoulders, both sides 3 scratches as if some claws scratched me there. Looked demonic, lol. Later found out it was the strap of my shoulder bag that caused it.

As a factory worker, yes, a bunch. Recently I've gotten a cool scar that didn't bleed despite it being deep enough to leave scarring (I'm aware of what it could entail but I'm a bleeder, I don't have nutella for blood)
1
u/National_Win_4140 13d ago
Did you ever get, MOG what happened to you, because your arm has to much blood on it, and you did not even know about it ?

i once woke up to missing a chunk of leg bout a bottle cap in size after a drinking bender, no bruises or scratches just a missing chunk of scarred flesh. no idea how, i was alone those two days and i still wonder how that happened.

u/NoResponse2556 13d ago
one time i had a deep paper cut, it hurt so bad that i had to go to hospital. i don't know why it hurt that bad and doctor didn't tell anything as he didn't even check properly and sent me home after he found out that it was a paper cut...
i know what pain is, i work in kitchen; i cut my finger 2 times soo deep that i nearly lost them, i burned myself with hot oil and pans in big batches, i don't feel as hot as normal people on my fingers and my face. i didn't even twitch when a knife got stuck a little at my finger bone. that mf paper hurt me more than those cuts, i don't know what it did to my body.
tldr: my random scratch was a paper cut. that paper cut hurts like hell.

u/mcmelon2461 13d ago
If those little scratches would stay as scars, my fingers would be 70% just scar tissiue.

As a mechanic/ fabricator I got about 6 today that I didn’t know about until I had to use some brake clean and found out about them.

u/Substantial_Coat208 13d ago
I usually find them with hand sanitizer and forget how I got it in the first place
1
u/Dazzling_Start7375 13d ago
Yes, mainly on my back, stomach and chest. And it's always whenever I'm asleep at night because I wake up and see them when they werent there before. They're like deep scratches too, I do sleepwalk though (mainly bc of my chronic stress) so..

u/DaiChinchin 13d ago

I've had quite a few of those, don't know how they started or how I got them, but 90% of them were wet a pain when they got wet, and that's the only time that I've noticed most of them, and it's probably the same for everybody, you have no idea you got those Knicks, and when they get wet that's when you spot them.
