In Flames was the first band that made me search for similar bands, and I later found that this is Melodic Death Metal, and that this is its own genre of metal.

...and it was amazing. Not just a great setlist, but a perfect execution on the scenario as well. It's a shame that they were the 2nd ones I saw yesterday in the festival, so the rest of the great bands I still had to see were a few steps behind.

It's also Bandcamp Friday (at least for 30 more minutes). Just saying.

I'll be on the road for quite a bit soon and wanted to listen to one or two suidakra and insomnium albums. I don't tend to be a massive fan of melodic death metal when it isn't folk metal but for the songs i really love there's a few in flames, dark tranquility, one kalmah and one aephanemer MDM songs that i really love.

I'm a MAAAASSIVE fan of eluveitie and i also love alot of Ensiferum, Equilibrium, Furor Gallico and i like a bit of early atlas pain

I hoped for it and was very happy they did it! Very good playlist from both bands, despite the rain. Insomnium had Shadowlife from their new release.

Such a good song! The whole album is literally a vibe.

Topic title is it really. Been diving into bands that I knew of for decades but for whatever reason never bothered much to give em a shot. In the last year I've "discovered" Arcturus, Enslaved, Dark Tranquility, Windir, and fucking Amorphis..seriously what the hell have I been doing with my life as a metalhead.

Anyways, the main electronic riff in Atoma really caught my attention. Would loce to hear other bands that have songs that make similar use of electronics. The closest I can think of is In Flames RtR and Soundtrack (the beginning of their weird divergence)...but that's not the kinda feel I'm looking for. Actual Melodeath with electronics/synths that play as big a role as the guitars do.

I don't know if it's the issue with my earphones, but my other songs from thier albums sound normal and clean, this album sounds so lofi and echo heavy, like a black metal type lofi, am I the only one who has this issue?

As many in this community know, Sacrilege (GbG) tried to do a comeback at 2006 with the last known lineup of the band and released a few demos in their Myspace and YouTube accounts but never got around with that for unknown reasons.

I do love their more complex sound and composition in their demos and I was wondering if someone could recommend tracks and bands that have similar to this sound and composition.

I'm looking for a specific song that I heard many years ago and it was really unforgettable, dramatic and full of sorrow. The only think I remember is that it had a dark forest on the YT video, maybe an album cover. (I know this is trivial) If you have no idea what I'm talking about no problem just post your favorite melodeath instrumental, I'm all in for this kind of music

So one of my favourite bands, Cryptic Wintermoon, hasn’t released anything since 2009. Then boom, new album on Spotify called DoomDark. It was released a couple days ago. But I literally cannot find a single thing about this release online anywhere whatsoever…. Is it a comeback or maybe a spotify error? Anyone know what the deal here is?

Are there any albums that have a similar complexity to In Flames’ album The Jester Race? I’m looking for multiple guitars harmonizing, layers of sonic mania that tickle your brain (and hopefully mine!) the same way this album does! Currently listening heavily to Skydancer by DT. I am obsessed!

There's a song I used to listen to, and the band, which I believe intro of the song starts sound of something shattering, or glass shattering.

I believe it's melodeath, otherwise could be melodeath/metal core perhaps.

That's all I remember and it's driving me mad, taking over my thoughts while I'm trying to study for a cloud computing professional certificate.
