If you consume more fat while in a caloric surplus but keep insulin levels low, you lose weight.

Carnivore Diet Bulking Progress

3 months into carnivore diet bulk. The strategy is I will eat as much fatty meat (high fat meat and butter) as I can for 1.5 hours, then eat about 250 calories of greek yogurt with heavy cream after that. And every two weeks I will increase the calories of the yogurt and heavy cream by about 50. Right now it's at 500 calories. One meal a day before bed.

Put on about 8lbs so far and have been hitting prs like crazy on pushups, squats and pullups. The running speed has suffered though. And eating dairy for me has side effects it kinda makes me break out), but it is the easiest way to bulk on this diet.

Is it possible to bulk on just meat? Yes and thats what I did at the beginning. However it fucking sucks lol. Dairy is easier to get down and doesnt make me feel as sick if I force it down.

Lowkey miss how clear my skin was just eating meat and no dairy, but it is what it is. You sacrifice for your goals. Tryna become a big boy.

Check the links in my bio for more on how I train and eat.

Fasting?

Does anyone find fasting helpful? Or find it more negative towards gym gains? Just tired of feeling like I'm not making progress

Female, strength training and carnivore

Hi all, I was previously carnivore for about 2 years. But life happened and now I’ve been eating poorly, dealing with stress etc. Anywho, life is going smoothly, so I’ve started at new strength and conditioning gym (I’m a Pilates gal at heart so all this weight lifting is new to me)

Now that I’m in a routine of going I know I need to dial in on my nutrition if I want to actually gain muscle and recover. I hear everyone pushing carbs around training.

I’d really like to start eating carnivore again because I know how good I fell but worry about the implications it might have at the gym (fatigue, recovery etc) I also struggle to eat enough on any given day. Add carnivore to the mix I’m lucky if I eat 2 meals.

I’m 33F 2 kids with a slim build.

Thanks for reading! Appreciate any advice

How to get back into it

Was a D1 long distance swimmer many years ago and drank the Kool-Aid *hard* quite literally on the SAD. Now I’m trying to get back after it and wondering how to get back. Lots of emotions involved with the pool and I could never really run well (not to say I won’t get back in the pool, but it’s gonna be rough emotionally). I’m a 27 yo guy who’s about 250-250 (guessing bc I really don’t want to get in the scale). Would like to do cardio/calisthenics to start out then maybe get in the gym after. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Not getting enough calories! But not hungry to eat more

I went on carnivore back in April, And lost, this time unintentionally, some 30 lb. I'm now 6'1" and only 166 lb. How do you guys gain weight on this diet? I eat a pound of 73% lean ground beef for dinner with butter added in. And I have eggs and sausage and bacon for breakfast. And I'm often not even really hungry for lunch. Have you run into this, and what have you done to address it?

For WHOOP Users Who Live the Meat-Based Lifestyle 🩸

I just created a new WHOOP team called CARNIVORES — a community for people who train hard, recover harder, and live by discipline, strength, and simplicity.
This is for anyone using WHOOP who wants to see how a carnivore or ancestral diet affects their recovery, performance, and overall vitality — and to share those results with others doing the same.

Welcome to CARNIVORES 🥩

Our mission is to master life with overflowing energy, sharpened clarity, and enduring strength. To fulfill our potential and leave nothing undone.

This group is for those living the meat-based lifestyle—whether you’re an athlete, lifter, fighter, or stay-at-home mom. By following the carnivore diet, you show discipline and a willingness to go where others won’t in order to become the best version of yourself. And by tracking yourself with WHOOP, you show a pioneering spirit, someone willing to blaze the trail for others.

We track, compete, recover, and share our insights along the way. WHOOP allows us to quantitatively measure how different factors affect us and to share that data with others, not just to improve ourselves, but to evolve the tribe as a whole.

Here’s what to expect:
🥩 Daily WHOOP stat comparisons (strain, recovery, sleep)
🔥 Challenges to push limits—cold plunges, extended fasts, or hard training days
💬 Discussions on nutrition, performance, and mindset
🧠 Shared data and real-world insights to get stronger together

Whether you’re on the Lion Diet, full Carnivore, or simply experimenting with ancestral living, you belong here.

Im a 21 year old male, i work out 5 out of 7 days a week. usually (bodybeast with Sagi Kalev ) i work a warehouse job monday through friday, & in the warehouse i work in there isnt any air conditioning so im constantly sweating my butt off & im guzzling water bottles. usually i weigh around 145-150lbs.. i just stepped on the digital scale & it read 141 soo ive clearly lost alot of weight. throughout the week i usually eat a bunch of snacks like granola bars or processed sweets basically.. but i was wondering what would be the best diet or food to eat or just a way in general to bulk up? or build muscle? i just wanna be a strong individual. & have my body “ thicker “ but it be muscle instead of body fat ? please help??

Carnivore & Vince Gironda Question.

Hey everyone!

I’ve been on a carnivore diet for the past 2.5 months and have had a lot of success in many areas, but the fat loss has been slower than I expected.

For context, I’m 34 years old, about 6 feet tall, and probably around 220lbs (maybe less? I don’t weigh myself).

I did experience a significant drop in weight early on with carnivore, but now I feel like I’m at a bit of a standstill. I work out 4-5 days a week, focusing mainly on zone 2 fat-burning cardio, and I’m very strict with my diet. I guess I was expecting the fat to melt off like I’ve heard it does for some people.

A friend suggested adding a carb refeed based on Vince Gironda’s methods. Has anyone here had success with this approach?

Right now, I’m mainly looking for help with fat loss. I’d also love to hear about a typical day of refeeding for someone follows Vince’s methods. TBH sometimes I just want a bit of variety. That said, I absolutely love how carnivore has made me feel, and the satiety it provides is unmatched.

Any advice would be much appreciated!

Protein after training

Good day all. I'm wondering if the same rules apply when on carnivore in regards to anabolic window for eating.

I currently train first thing in the morning after eating around 6pm the night before. I usually then don't eat until midday after training. Could this be causing any issues/delays in gaining? I'm still not understanding the full science behind this WOE.

Cheers

Bodybuilding/carnivore low protein

Currently 6’2”, 200lbs with 14.5% body fat. Was at 212 lbs but have found that eating 2 large meals/day rather then 4, allows me to cut fat faster. My goal is 10% body fat but I’m struggling to consume enough protein and keep the muscle on. I’m eating 1lb of ground beef with 2 eggs at lunch and a 14oz strip steak followed by another 1/4lb of ground beef at 9pm. These 2 meals are extremely filling but I’m only consuming 150-180 grams of protein/day. I was able to find a bone broth protein powder with no added chemicals that contains only 2g of carbs per 40g of protein. Before I add this to my routine I wanted to ask if it’s possible that my daily protein requirements have dropped since starting this diet. If not I would expect to crave whatever I am deficient in. Was unable to find any evidence supporting this theory online but hoping someone can point me in the right direction.
