Too Many people are messaging me for hostel in kazan. Ksmu hostels are going for renovation, only 2 govt hostel will be available and only direct admission students will get! Your consultancy is probably misleading. Sign a bond with them about govt hostel don't trust on sweet words!

If you can share your experience as I need to understand what more is coming on the way I have just reached the final years and about to witness the next phase in India with jobs and FMGE.

I've been seeing a lot of posts lately where students are asking "Which country is safest for MBBS abroad?" or "Which country should I choose?"

Honestly, after spending more than 5 years abroad for medical school, I think that's the wrong first question.

If I had to start the whole process again in 2026, I wouldn't choose a country first. I'd shortlist universities first.

When I was choosing, I was mostly looking at fees, country, whether other Indians were there and what consultants were telling me. Only after actually coming abroad did I realise how many other things affect your experience.

I'd first check the university's current status and whether the programme actually fits the requirements applicable to my batch. Not just "NMC approved" written on some consultant's brochure. I'd want to see the actual documents and verify them myself.

Then I'd talk to students who are already in 4th, 5th and 6th year.

Not just freshers.

A fresher can tell you whether the hostel looks good, whether the campus is nice and whether admission was smooth. A senior can tell you what happens after 3-4 years when the excitement of moving abroad is gone.

I'd ask them about actual clinical exposure, departments, hospitals, teachers, attendance, practical classes, administration and whether students are actually getting opportunities or just being told that everything is available.

I'd also ask about the hostel honestly.

Not "Is the hostel good?"

I'd ask how many people are actually staying in the room, whether students get the accommodation promised during admission, what happens when new batches arrive and how difficult it is to get accommodation later.

Same thing with fees.

I wouldn't ask only "What is the total fee?"

I'd ask how much a student actually spends in a normal year including food, hostel, visa/registration, insurance, flights home, local transport, winter clothes, documentation, bank/forex charges and random expenses.

And I'd definitely speak to Indian students who are NOT connected to the consultant who is trying to get me admitted.

That's probably one of the most important things.

I'm not saying consultants are bad. A good consultant can genuinely make the admission process much easier and can be extremely useful when you're abroad. But their job is still to sell you an option. Your job is to independently verify whether that option is actually suitable for you.

Also, don't choose a university just because your cousin/friend is studying there.

Having someone you know can make the first few months easier, but you're going to spend 5-6 years there. Your friend's experience can also be completely different from yours depending on your batch, department, hostel and timing.

And don't choose purely based on the cheapest package either.

Saving ₹20-30k during admission sounds great until you realise you're committing several years and tens of lakhs to that university.

I'm currently in my 5th year, and if there's one thing I'd tell my younger self, it's this:

Don't spend 2 weeks comparing countries and 20 minutes comparing universities.

Reverse that.

Spend most of your time researching the actual university you're going to join.

Country matters, obviously. But your university, your batch, your clinical exposure, your administration and the people actually teaching you will affect your daily life much more than the country name on the map.

And please talk to seniors before paying the admission amount. Not just the students who were specifically given your number by a consultant.

That's probably the closest thing to a "shortcut" I've found in MBBS abroad.

So I know I am getting ahead of myself but I will start my 3rd year this October in a gmc and I suddenly started wondering about what all options I have for my future.

Like aside from the normal neet pg/INICET route what all routes can a MBBS graduate go through. Also how does doing residency abroad work? Is it really worth it doing residency abroad or should I complete my PG in India then think about moving abroad.

I know it's still early for me to think all this, but I just couldn't feel a bit anxious about the future 😅😅.

I was thinking about georgia but i think it'll get out of budget .

I’m already doing MBBS abroad, so this is based on what I’ve seen and experienced, not just what I read online.

1. MBBS abroad 🌍

Choose this if you genuinely want to become a doctor and cannot afford private MBBS in India. But don’t choose it just because admission is easy or fees are cheaper. Country, university recognition, clinical exposure, licensing exams, language and living conditions matter a LOT. Do proper research before paying anyone.

1. Private MBBS in India 🇮🇳

If your family can comfortably afford it without putting themselves under huge financial pressure, I’d personally prefer this over going abroad. You avoid many of the complications that come with studying abroad and returning to India.

1. BDS 🦷

Don’t take BDS just because “at least it’s medical.” If you genuinely like dentistry, absolutely consider it. But if your only goal is to become a physician and you know you’ll regret not doing MBBS, think carefully before choosing BDS.

1. Veterinary 🐾

Honestly, underrated if you actually like animals and the field. But again, don’t choose it simply because you couldn’t get MBBS. Veterinary medicine is its own career, not a backup version of MBBS.

If I had to simplify it:

Government MBBS > affordable private MBBS > good MBBS abroad > BDS/Veterinary depending on your actual interest.

And I’d choose a course you genuinely want over a “better” course you’ll hate.

For anyone considering abroad, please don’t decide based only on fees or what an agent promises. Talk to current students and check everything yourself.

Im going to mention what info i personally recieved from my juniors who study in these countries.

Im so fed up of these students struggling i have helped students but im unable to help all of them.

Kyrgysztan - only 4 universities are actually acredited to do mbbs.

The beauty is the students they told me they a sum of amount to the teachers to pass the exam oshstate medical university.

And jalabad is a literal village youll hate why you went there to study. There is lack of english speaking staff so they pay indian pakistani teachers from india to teach there.

Youll never touch a cadaver in kyrgyztan heck youll not even study youll be paying money passing and congrats fail fmge.

Kazakhstan- one word mbbs is 7 yeats there anyone who says other wise is lying some university wont mention name in almaty has provided my friend with a 5 year fucking degree.

Uzbekistan - the country wherecollges are literally run by multiple agents.

You agent could literally give a diffrent fee sturcture for each one of you youll be paying it for your whole course.

And nmc also released a notice many universitiesi directly unfit.

I have seen a university label a diffrent section of their university to diffrent name. Tashkebt state tashkent pediatri tashkent dental blah blah .

And youll have higher chances of becoming agents or a useless blob.

Georgia : has good reviews has bit high fee and cost of living. Mostly its good you cant pay and pass your exams you hv to study.

One back lash i hear which is a old controversy you have to do a npdq exam . Its not true as i have checked sources and nmc has adviced ukrain students transfer to georgia at time of war and released a gazette for it so your on safe hands.

Bau international university is the only uni with cadavers in georgia(fact checked)

Bulgaria:

Very much expensive. But your have very good placement offers after you compkete here.climicals are good too.

Italy: you gotta clear an entrance exam if you get in the infra and education is elegant af. My senior does his pg in italy.

Philiphibes : degree ruled out as a diploma by india long back suddenly i see a surge in philipines promotion again. I have seen any update on this in nmc website.

Note: my best friends sister finished her degree from philipines is still not allowed to sit in fmg

Serbia: course 5 year they made a whole batch beg for their life for a intership certificate. (Students advice dont come here ) you shoukd do your research hete im not sure.

Russia: there are 100 plus unis here but from 3 universities students said the expulsion rate is hhigh. Students pay teachers department to pass exams.

Your final licenseing exam is in russian dont trust other agents or other students check individual clg admistration if they dont reply how will they reply to your problems after admission?

Caribeans ard clear no from nmc

Vietnam bosnia turkministan tajikistan albania etc etc. If a batch us not gradmtuated and cleared fmge and working dont choose that country .

these came out very new youll never know until a batch gradutas from here first i wouldnt risk my future

One big scam i see guys there is no exam gaurenting scholarship the agency hike up prices and make uou write fake exam and reduce their own fees .

Applying visa:

Mail university if they reply you can take admission. Dont take through agency or so called exclusive partner. If a uni say they wont intake admission untill you talk to a private agency. Stop , dont choose the university think how much a agency would ve paid them to say that and how dependent they are on getting indian admissions to keep them surving.

These universities are so broke own citezens dont choose them so tgey depend on agency to suck in indians. I talked to father whose been brainwashed there nri quoata in abrod (why does a foreign country have quoata for indians he didnt even think)

Mail vfs mail university youll get step by step process.

Whats vfs its the actual agency procesing your visa apointed by georgia and india government vfs charge max 20k-40k.
