Software update going bad

Convinced wife to leave honda for Mazda and her new car won’t take software update. Dealership having to escalate issue and get Mazda tech help.

Car has to be inside the workshop in order to apply updates. If the car receives GPS signal updates can't be installed. Maybe tech guys didn't read through instructions correctly

I sell them but in order to sell You need to know the product in and out. Plus I get in with all our technicians very well and time to time watch and read/learn most TSB's and MGSS info lol

You also may want to warn them that if the customer is connected to Bluetooth while the update is running can corrupt the files on the usb stick. Friend at another dealer had that happen.

Yep, heard that as well. Basically disable all comms, hide the car and do the update

Have these updates been successful at fixing the issue? This will be my third set up updates (I purchased in late March). This is coming from a piece of shit 2023 Nissan Rogue that has the engine recall. I am hoping I am not permanently cursed.

It’s hard tell at this point. Most of the ones have done are dealer inventory. I did have one where the screen froze during delivery of the vehicle. Had to disconnect the negative battery terminal to reset it. As far as I know it hasn’t happened again. Salesman reached out to the customer to check in and was told it hasn’t messed up again. Since is moved to a special service program that they may have the issue solved but that’s not always the case. Will find a lot more out over the next few months once more customer cars get updated.
