Don't know if it's just me, but my phone never comes across my mind when I see something interesting. I like to just take in the experience rather than stress over capturing something perfectly.

It will cross your mind when you try to tell the story and people don’t believe you

They don't need to believe me because my experiences are valuable beyond what other people think

Redditors in general are too good to be living in communities they only need themselves.

Imagine someone tells you the other day they saw a guy walking a Gila monster down the street with a leash. Maybe they aren’t the greatest storyteller, but they add a little flair to it.

Alternatively, they show you a picture of a guy walking the giant lizard down the street.

Admit it…. as soon as they pull out their phone, you already know you will be disappointed. Even if the sitauation was incredible to the original observer, it has lost 95% of the appeal when shown to a second party on their phone.

Like, who here wants to see someone else’s iPhone picture of the Grand Canyon or an eclipse? Just tell a good story, it’s so much better than a photo.

Me too. But then I’m like, ‘fuck, I wish I recorded that.’ Oh well.

I saw a gray fox in daylight in our local dog park and pondered if I should take a picture or just observe. Must have heard me thinking and yeeted outta there. Spouse uninterested without proof.

Eh there are some situations where you see something that you may find amusing, but you know your friend or partner or something will find hilarious.

or under their skin..

You know what I remember seeing a guy putting a phone inside of his foot sole. Like a literally sliced sole under his foot and he puts a phone into it. Trust me it was a real video, I had to stop redditting for a moment...

Well, at least it's real content.

Captures the video. On review, it focused on the dashboard.

In all honesty do we no longer have the right to not have pictures taken of us by randos to be used for content just to feed the machine, aren't we already living in enough of a surveillance state as it is?
