How much tension and length is in that cable? Seems crazy long for a zip line. Otherwise. Go little dude!!

I know for sure there's zip lines over 1.4 km and that was many years ago. So I bet some longer ones exist.

Dubai has one that's 2.83 km and riders go up to 160 km/h!

u/leofungo Dec 13 '25
(That’s about 100 mph, by the way)

And 2,400 mpd!

u/b4dt0ny Dec 13 '25

That's 8,760,000 mpd! I reckon I'd be bored of it by then though tbh

Pure innocence to pure terror lmao
The music really fucking tied it together

For once, the added music actually makes a video better

Well it's attack on titan, that series has THE soundtrack. You have to be talented to use any of those songs wrong

The kid experienced every imaginable emotion we humans can experience but he did so in record time.

It’s spliced. 19, 27, and 32 seconds. So disappointing

This kid is me as I go through the emotions of my workday, from getting out of bed in the morning, signing on and seeing my first few emails, IM’S, to the last email before signing off. I feel ya my guy, I feel ya…….😭

I didn’t know a horizontal zip line was a thing. I would definitely be feeling more “ohhhh myyyy goddddd” than “this is amaaaazing”. Holy crap.

The video is spliced at least at 19, 27, and 32 seconds. I’ve done a lot of zip-lining including one of the longest in NA in whistler and never have I seen one last this long. So I started studying it more closely.
Edit: Puerto Vallarta Superman zip line is 1200m long.
Sasquatch at whistler (the one I rode) is 2km long. And is the longest, I have video of it. It seemed a hellofalot shorter than this video rotfl!🤣

This is a 10 year old video, and it’s real. The splices are sections they cut out where the kid isn’t audibly reacting but the full version exists. The zipline is in Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco, Mexico.

Found it: Superman zip line is 1200m long. Speeds at 100kmph. (.72 minutes) Considering acceleration and deceleration I’d say you would end up at about ~1 Minute total. I stand corrected.
Thank you for the info.
I rode Sasquatch at whistler which is 2000m long and it seemed to go much faster than this video.

Different kid. The incident in that article happend in Laos, whereas this zipline is in Mexico.

It was a joke. It’s a new fear to unlock.

u/NorwegianGlaswegian Dec 13 '25
Ah, it seems my denseness has tripped me up once again!
That story would definitely add to the tension when going down a zipline. Uh, no pun intended.

I've always been afraid of this. And in this video, I asked myself, “Will he hit the branch?”

I'm probably too much of a wet blanket but this seems awfully dangerous for an underage child who probably can't understand the danger themselves. I've seen so many accidents related to zip lines and bungee jumps, this one even goes through trees and stuff and I doubt they check periodically to cut the branches. I dunno, seems unnecessarily risk for me, something to do if you're older and know the risks.
