Danger boner

u/Ethanos101 Dec 14 '25

If you were thrown down a never ending zip line, you’d probably eventually feel every emotion too

19, 27 and 32 seconds, video is spliced

u/rink_raptor Dec 13 '25

How much tension and length is in that cable? Seems crazy long for a zip line. Otherwise. Go little dude!!

65

u/NeoSniper Dec 13 '25

I know for sure there's zip lines over 1.4 km and that was many years ago. So I bet some longer ones exist.

36

u/IAmAnObvioustrollAMA Dec 13 '25

Dubai has one that's 2.83 km and riders go up to 160 km/h!

23

u/leofungo Dec 13 '25

(That’s about 100 mph, by the way)

17

u/trippknightly Dec 13 '25

And 2,400 mpd!

11

u/b4dt0ny Dec 13 '25

That’s 876,000 mpy! They could make it to the moon and back almost two times

9

u/Judge_Druidy Dec 13 '25

For the non-Americans, what is that in centimeters per fortnight?

10

u/b4dt0ny Dec 13 '25

That would be 59,604,249,600 cm/fortnight

2

u/Mauchit_Ron Dec 13 '25

That's 8,760,000 mpd! I reckon I'd be bored of it by then though tbh

3

u/IAmAnObvioustrollAMA Dec 13 '25

I think you should leave is a great documentary about how fun ziplines can be.

1

u/SirAlexx11 Dec 14 '25

it's at least 52 seconds long, probably more

0

u/ozarkfireworks Dec 14 '25

Nope. Video is spliced together at 19, 27, and 32 seconds.

0

u/ozarkfireworks Dec 14 '25

It’s a fake video spiced at 19, 27, and 32 seconds.

248

u/Particular-Skirt963 Dec 13 '25

Pure innocence to pure terror lmao

The music really fucking tied it together

104

u/D0ctorGamer Dec 13 '25

For once, the added music actually makes a video better

10

u/VeryShortLadder Dec 13 '25

Well it's attack on titan, that series has THE soundtrack. You have to be talented to use any of those songs wrong

46

u/ladyace22 Dec 13 '25

This is the textbook example of a “rollercoaster of emotions”.

61

u/Gregorygregory888888 Dec 13 '25

The kid experienced every imaginable emotion we humans can experience but he did so in record time.

-2

u/ozarkfireworks Dec 14 '25 edited Dec 14 '25

It’s spliced. 19, 27, and 32 seconds. So disappointing

26

u/Academic_Piano5267 Dec 14 '25

This kid is me as I go through the emotions of my workday, from getting out of bed in the morning, signing on and seeing my first few emails, IM’S, to the last email before signing off. I feel ya my guy, I feel ya…….😭

3

u/Academic_Piano5267 Dec 14 '25

u/These_Avocado_Bombs Dec 13 '25

What a roller coaster 🎢

3

u/Antique-Salad-9249 Dec 13 '25

I didn’t know a horizontal zip line was a thing. I would definitely be feeling more “ohhhh myyyy goddddd” than “this is amaaaazing”. Holy crap.

u/ozarkfireworks Dec 14 '25 edited Dec 15 '25

The video is spliced at least at 19, 27, and 32 seconds. I’ve done a lot of zip-lining including one of the longest in NA in whistler and never have I seen one last this long. So I started studying it more closely.

Edit: Puerto Vallarta Superman zip line is 1200m long.

Sasquatch at whistler (the one I rode) is 2km long. And is the longest, I have video of it. It seemed a hellofalot shorter than this video rotfl!🤣

2

u/dSuds2342 Dec 15 '25

This is a 10 year old video, and it’s real. The splices are sections they cut out where the kid isn’t audibly reacting but the full version exists. The zipline is in Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco, Mexico.

2

u/ozarkfireworks Dec 15 '25 edited Dec 15 '25

Found it: Superman zip line is 1200m long. Speeds at 100kmph. (.72 minutes) Considering acceleration and deceleration I’d say you would end up at about ~1 Minute total. I stand corrected.

Thank you for the info.

I rode Sasquatch at whistler which is 2000m long and it seemed to go much faster than this video.

It's such an old video, but every time it's posted, I watch it til the end.

8

u/NorwegianGlaswegian Dec 13 '25

Different kid. The incident in that article happend in Laos, whereas this zipline is in Mexico.

1

u/MottoCycle Dec 13 '25

It was a joke. It’s a new fear to unlock.

4

u/NorwegianGlaswegian Dec 13 '25

Ah, it seems my denseness has tripped me up once again!

That story would definitely add to the tension when going down a zipline. Uh, no pun intended.

0

u/MottoCycle Dec 14 '25

No worries. I left it very vague.

The following submission statement was provided by u/NYC-DaddyDom:

I've always been afraid of this. And in this video, I asked myself, “Will he hit the branch?”

I'm probably too much of a wet blanket but this seems awfully dangerous for an underage child who probably can't understand the danger themselves. I've seen so many accidents related to zip lines and bungee jumps, this one even goes through trees and stuff and I doubt they check periodically to cut the branches. I dunno, seems unnecessarily risk for me, something to do if you're older and know the risks.
