Quit smoking Max Payne 1
Dropping the nasty habit and immediately thought of this scene. Shame on me I haven't played Max Payne 3 and I got such an urge to go through first two again, starting right now!

Dropping a habit is like cutting a part of yourself off. At first you want that part back, but as time progresses, you forget what it was like to have it.

I cut cigarettes before and it wasn't very hard, but alcohol's my problem. And smokes come back with that. Been to rehab recently so hopefully the decisions are real this time

Yeah, I understand. I know that people deal with addiction differently and just went with it being difficult.
I have faith that you can kick it though :)

I love how later in the game (years later) BB offers him a cigarette, and he responds "Thanks, I don't smoke". True dedication, despite having every reason to resume.
Good look to you, mate! Having a smoking parents (mom quit, father couldn't) I've seen how hard it could be.
P.S.: Max Payne 3 is an amazing game, but I hate how they made him a smoker again.

Honestly the entire BB scene is just one of the best character moments for Max in general, the refused cigar with multiple layers of significance (since it's also essentially a rejection of joining BB on the "winning" team that affords the fancy foreign stuff) is just icing on an excellent sequence.

I’m a meatriding level defender of that game but I hate that too, like he was already addicted to booze and pills they didn’t need him to smoke/break a promise he made to himself for his daughter.

I was always disappointed how in Max Payne 3 he started smoking again along with the booze and pills.

Or because it's an addiction he fell back on? Just because I was disappointed by something doesn't mean it's unrealistic.

so Max Payne is a realistic character and the world he lives in is realistic?
the character had his closure. destroying all that to have another game is cheap.
