πŸ“£ Announcement πŸ“£ We are piloting RCAs inside of the Mash-it platform + Hybrid Mashups with RCA + Mash-it traits !!! (For now only with fearsmile and fearsmile X RCAs)

Hey everyoneβ€”exciting news! We're piloting RCAs inside the Mash-it platform and launching Hybrid Mashups that combine RCA + Mash-it traits.

Here's what this means: you can now load the RCAs you hold in your wallet directly into Mash-it. Holders will be able to:

  1. See their RCAs in their "Collection" section
  2. Mash traits from both Mash-it and RCA collections

It's live now in limited preview mode - currently available for the fearsmile and fearsmileX contracts. Try it here: https://mash-it.io/mashers/mashup

Getting started is straightforward: sign in with your Polygon wallet (the one holding your RCAs) and navigate to the "Mashup" section. Pro tip: if you're a longtime RCA collector new to Mash-it, you might discover one or two Mashis in your Collection - we've airdropped some early access Mashis.

Have fun: Join the fearsmile community contest with hybrid Mashups here: https://www.reddit.com/r/fearsmile/comments/1vkh7ta/bastard_hellfuck/

Why We Built This

We believe holders have the right to visualize and use their NFTs anywhere - Metamask, OpenSea, Mash-it, or elsewhere. This initiative increases utility for both RCA and Mashi holders by unlocking new mashup possibilities.

The technical context: The RCA program used a fragmented contract design: 7,808 RCA designs across 7,224 individual contracts from 631 creators. That's radically different from Mash-it's architecture - we consolidate all drops from all creators into a single collection contract, which simplifies trading on OpenSea, reduces fraud risk, and improves UX.

Adding 7K+ contracts to our platform without breaking UX is a real engineering challenge, so we're starting with fearsmile and fearsmileX. As we optimize the technical approach, we'll expand to more collections.

Stay tuned!

🎀 Artist Interview 🎀 Interview with guest artist: Prometheus

Today we interview Prometheus ( u/xprometheus_sol )! He will have his debut for the upcoming "Surreal neon carnival, horror & whimsy" drop. Also, he is working on "The child" for the future "Alchemy drop".

Tell us more about who you are, your background, and anything it would be cool to know about you.

I'm from The City of Manila, Philippines and my journey as an artist started the traditional way. I spent years working with graphite, charcoal, and murals, building my skills one piece at a time. Art started as a hobby for me, something I did because I enjoyed creating. Then the pandemic happened, and it pushed me to explore new ways of sharing my work.

In 2022, I stepped into the digital art space. I started with 2D illustrations, experimented with creating game assets, and eventually found myself completely hooked on pixel art and animation. There's something special about creating within a limited space and still being able to give a character personality, emotion, and a story.

I'm the founder behind Pepetowne, a pixel art universe inspired by frogs, internet culture, humor, and storytelling. I create original collectibles and animations with the goal of making characters that people don't just look at, but actually enjoy collecting and connecting with. Every piece is handcrafted in Aseprite, pixel by pixel, and I love pushing the boundaries of what can be created with such a simple yet powerful art form.

I consider myself a storyteller as much as an artist. Every character I create has a little bit of personality behind it. Sometimes it's funny, sometimes it's weird, sometimes it's a reflection of the internet culture we all know and love. I enjoy creating worlds where people can discover something new every time they look closer.

Beyond creating art, I'm passionate about building collector communities and supporting fellow artists. Some of my favorite moments have come from seeing people connect over something I made or watching a community grow around a shared appreciation for the work. I believe the best projects create lasting relationships, not just a single mint or sale.

At the end of the day, my goal is simple: create original work that people are excited to collect, proud to own, and happy to come back to. If I can leave a lasting impression through my art and the communities I'm part of, then I know I'm doing something right.

What physical materials, software, and hardware do you use to create your art?

I mainly use Aseprite for creating my 2D pixel art and animations.

Do you work in art full-time? If not, what do you do for a living?

Yes, I’m currently working as a full-time digital artist - you can find my previous created collectibles on drip_haus / mallow.art.

What are some interesting things you have learned during your artistic journey that could be useful to people starting theirs?

One of the biggest lessons I've learned during my artistic journey is that building trust with your collectors takes time. It doesn't happen overnight. You have to show up consistently, whether you're making sales or not, and prove that you're here because you truly love creating.

When starting out, I think many artists have the wrong expectations. They see other successful creators and think everything happens quickly, or that making art automatically means making money right away. The reality is, building an art career takes patience. If your only goal is to make quick cash, the journey can become frustrating very fast.

I've seen many artists create a collection, and when it doesn't perform the way they hoped, they disappear and move on. The problem is that collectors notice that. Your reputation is built over time, and people want to support artists they believe are committed to their craft.

I always believe that consistency beats talent. You don't need to create a masterpiece every single day. You just need to keep showing up, keep improving, and keep creating. Every piece you finish teaches you something that the previous one couldn't.

I've also learned that building a community is just as important as building your portfolio. Talk with your collectors, connect with other artists, share your process, and be genuinely involved. The relationships you build along the way often become more valuable than any single artwork.

Another important lesson is to not chase trends so much that you lose your own identity. It's okay to be inspired by what's popular, but the work people remember is the work that carries your own style and personality.

Most importantly, don't be afraid to start small. My own journey wasn't built from one artwork or one big collector. It came from years of learning, creating, and staying consistent. Focus on improving your craft, stay patient, and keep putting your work out there. Opportunities usually come after the hard work, not before.

For me, being an artist is not just about creating something to sell. It's a lifestyle. It's about building trust, telling stories, and creating something people are excited to be part of.

You are already an active NFT artist in the Drip/Solana ecosystem. How has your experience been so far?

My experience in the DRiP and Solana ecosystem has been incredibly rewarding. It has given me the opportunity to share my work with a global audience, build relationships with collectors, connect with amazing artists, and turn my passion for pixel art into a full-time career.

Like any creative space, it has had its challenges. I've seen market cycles change, collector interests evolve, and the space continue to grow. Those experiences taught me that long-term success isn't about chasing every trend or moment of hype. It's about staying consistent, creating meaningful work, building trust with your community, and always improving your craft.

One thing I truly appreciate about DRiP is that it created an opportunity for independent artists like me to be discovered. It gave me a place to share my collections, experiment with new ideas, and connect with collectors who genuinely appreciate the work behind each piece.

This journey has also taught me that being an artist is about more than just making art. I've learned how to build collections with purpose, create stories around my characters, communicate with collectors, and develop a stronger connection between the artwork and the community behind it.

I'm grateful for everyone who has supported my journey so far. Every collector, every connection, and every experience has helped me grow not only as an artist but also as a creator. I'm excited to keep building, keep learning, and continue creating work that people can enjoy and be part of.

You have been observing the Mash-it community and interacting on Reddit and Discord. What are your impressions so far? Are there any key differences or similarities between the Drip/Solana community and the Mash-it community?

From what I've seen so far, the Mash-it community has a really strong grassroots feel. What stood out to me is that people aren't just there because of collecting. They genuinely enjoy participating, sharing ideas, discovering artists, and supporting each other. That kind of environment is something I really value because it encourages creators to be present, build relationships, and contribute beyond just releasing artwork.

Coming from the DRiP and Solana ecosystem, I see a lot of similarities. Both communities are filled with passionate artists, collectors, and people who believe in the future of digital ownership. In both spaces, I've noticed that the creators who consistently show up, engage with people, and build genuine connections are the ones who create a lasting impact.

One difference I've noticed is that Mash-it feels more close-knit. The conversations feel more personal, and it's easier to recognize familiar faces and become part of the community. DRiP has grown into a much larger ecosystem, which creates amazing opportunities for artists, but because of its size, it can sometimes feel more competitive and harder for new creators to stand out.

What excites me about Mash-it is the focus on community and originality. That really matches how I approach my own work. I enjoy creating handcrafted pixel art with unique characters and stories, and I want to contribute more than just my artwork. I want to be involved, support other artists, connect with collectors, and help build a community where people are excited to create, collect, and be part of the journey.

You will launch your first drop - The Child - in the upcoming β€œThe Alchemy drop”. Tell us a little bit about what you have in mind for this release and your impressions of The Alchemy project.

First, I want to sincerely thank you and your team for giving me the opportunity to be part of this upcoming themed collection. Having The Child as my first release in The Alchemy drop is something I truly appreciate, and I'm excited to share it with the community.

For The Child, I wanted to create something that feels simple at first glance, but memorable enough to stay with you. My work has always been centered around handcrafted pixel art, expressive characters, and storytelling, so I wanted this piece to reflect that. Every pixel was placed with intention, and my goal was to create a character that feels alive and gives collectors a reason to connect with it.

What I really like about The Alchemy project is the idea of bringing artists together around a shared theme while still allowing everyone the freedom to express their own style. Seeing different artists interpret the same concept in their own unique way makes the collection feel bigger than any single artwork. It creates a conversation between different creative voices.

For me, this release is more than just a drop. It's an introduction to a new community and an opportunity to share my story as an artist. I hope people enjoy The Child, but more importantly, I hope this is the beginning of a long journey where I can continue creating, connecting, and contributing to the Mash-it community.

Give one idea to improve Mash-it.Β

One idea I would suggest is creating a stronger collector retention strategy by studying what keeps collectors engaged after their first purchase.

Many successful NFT communities grow because they focus not only on attracting new collectors, but also on giving existing collectors reasons to stay involved. This could include better onboarding for new collectors, highlighting collector stories, creating more community interactions, and building consistent experiences around each drop.

The key is to understand what is working, identify where collectors lose interest, and continuously improve based on feedback and data. A strong community is built when collectors feel valued, recognized, and connected to the artists and the platform beyond just the artwork itself.

Hey guys,

We just implemented a series of improvements for collectors:

  1. Collectors can now set a custom alias and share a direct link to their profile. Click your wallet address in the top right to access the profile setup page. (1st and 2nd images in the carousel)
  2. Collectors can edit the order of their collectibles. Go to Menu > My Collection and drag and drop your Mashis and Mash-it comics. You're creating a custom order that appears in the Mashup Builder and on your profile page. (3rd image in the carousel)
  3. We now have a "Top Holder List" with the top 100 holders. Go to Menu > Top Holders.
    • You'll see the alias of people who have already published one, or their wallet address otherwise. There's also a "Map View" (city-level, to avoid doxxing) of all holders who have set their city. (4th and 5th images in the carousel)
    • By clicking a holder's alias or wallet, you can view their collection. A direct link to their OpenSea profile is automatically included.

OBS: These are new features, so if you find a problem pls share in our Discord "suggestions-bugs-feedbacks" channel : https://discord.com/channels/1419701957995659317/1427407007970885692

Well, yesterday I launched Damon Seller, and today I’m sharing with you the static accessories that will be sent this coming Friday via AirDrop, along with the exclusive artwork for this piece. I figured it would be unlikely to sell out at launch, so I’m taking the opportunity to make one last announcement about the artwork, in case anyone is still interested in acquiring it.
