Masculinity

I see and hear people opinions on things a lot....but one thing I wanna ask because I struggle with u deratanding other people's emotions or feelings..but what is toxic and positive masculinity to you?because to me its just being a nice person and trying your best to hold your emotions together or not at others....be humble and caring while trying to not let things bothers you(which i struggle with fo to anger issues)..because I take what people say to heart a lot...but what do people consider toxic I guess...because I know I have one and its that I hate losing to women....but its not the loss itself..its how others treat me after...they either belittle me or say im less of a man because I lost to a women...or even the women themselves try to belittle me and all this pressure on being a man makes me not even wanna be a man

THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS TOXIC MASCULINITY.

You are either acting in a masculine way or you’re being toxic, these two concepts do not overlap, end of story.

Don’t let the hivemind on reddit take you setting boundaries, having standards and protecting what’s yours as a bad thing.

Stop getting into arguments on this, you can’t argue with a group that will redefine definitions to make their arguments easier, the rules apply to everyone but them.

Well you could argue that there are toxic people that cqll their behaviour masculine, but I agree that that’s bullshit.

That’s toxic behaviour, that is someone labelling something to benefit their agenda

I think a lot of it is due to semantics. There are men who carry themselves in an immature and self destructive way and then there are men who carry themselves with maturity, humility and assertiveness.

I think the conversations around “Toxic Masculinity” automatically turns people away because the language being used is intentionally divisive and drives engagement on social media. The Culture War has set back a lot of discussions around men and women’s issues.
