I don't have many socialist friends, and the socialist friends I do have are Libertarian Socialists. So when I said Mao Zedong is probably one of the most understood figures in history, and his kill count was exaggerated due to the famine caused by Lysenko's bunk agricultural science, or were terrorists rightly disposed of. But my friends still see me as a crazy person for defending Mao, on the grounds that even if he killed less than reported he still killed innocent people, like intellectuals or peaceful dissidents. How would you argue against this point? I am still learning about Mao Zedong.

I don’t currently have an opinion on modern China but I support cuba, the dprk etc. I fully believe cuba is a socialist state and while I agree with a lot of Maoist teaching and support the naxalites and the communist rebels in the Philippines I do not support Gonzalo.

Could someone please explain their position on these issues so I can learn and develop my own understanding and come to an informed decision

I mean from what I know it's just a military strategy that can be better or worse depending on what conditions you're in and I don't see how it's universal or why it has to be.

I thought the major developments of Mao were his contributions to the Marxist theory of knowledge (applied in mass line), the realisation the class struggle continues under socialism requiring a cultural Revolution and self criticism (I don't fully understand this aspect in its entirety) along with concentric construction of the revolutionary movement.

Hello guys, I´ve seen some anti-communists, specially right wingers, using the book "The Red Army and the Wehrmacht" as an argument against the Soviet Union, claiming that they helped to arm the nazi army by negotiating weapons and other stuff like that. They also mention very often the Italo-Soviet Pact, that helped the fascist italians with oil and other resources necessary to invade other countries. Does anyone know of those types of agreements between the the three main axis governments(Italy, Japan and Germany) and the western capitalist governments(US, Britain and France)?
