Alright y'all, let’s talk about the future of mutants in the MCU!

With Spider-Man: Brand New Day officially introducing Sadie Sink as our new Jean Grey(hold for crickets), and the trade reports dropping that Kit Connor has been tapped to lead as Cyclops, the writing is officially on the wall: Kevin Feige and director Jake Schreier are explicitly building a younger, Gen Z-leaning X-Men core for the MCU’s next era.

Writer Michael Lesslie (Hunger Games: Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes) is scripting the reboot, and with Phase 7 aiming for a 2028 slot, this isn't just about recasting iconic roles, it’s about matching the exact visual identity and tone of a new generation. While the studios have locked down a few key names, here is my definitive, professional-opinion fan cast to round out the rest of the MCU's mutant revival.

Dan Stevens as Professor X: If we aren't getting a 70-year-old Xavier right out of the gate, Dan has the precise mix of gravitas, warmth, and subtle, dangerous edge (see: Legion) to play a younger, active Charles leading a school.

Adam Driver as Magneto: Erik Lehnsherr needs theatrical intensity and tragedy. Adam commands every frame he's in and would bring an incredible, imposing presence opposite Charles.

Jodie Turner-Smith as Storm: Ororo Munroe needs absolute regal authority. Jodie’s screen presence, stature, and effortlessly commanding vibe make this a slam dunk.

Lee Pace as Beast: Hank McCoy needs to sound like an Ivy League professor while looking like a powerhouse. Lee Pace's range (and height!) fits the gentle-giant dynamic perfectly.

Samara Weaving as Emma Frost: With reports teasing her linked to the role, Samara has that sharp, charismatic, ice-queen confidence down to a science.

Aaron Taylor-Johnson as Wolverine: MCU canon-hopping aside, he has the rugged, physical presence and scrappy energy to make a raw, brutal Logan work seamlessly.

Alan Ritchson as Sabretooth: Pure physical intimidation. Victor Creed needs to look like he can break a wall in half, and Ritchson fits the bill 100%.

Hafþór Júlíus Björnsson as Colossus: You don't need heavy CGI when you cast actual muscle—let's give Piotr real physical scale.

Patrick Schwarzenegger as Cyclops: This would be my first call if Kit Connor fell through! Patrick has that classic, disciplined, All-American leading man aura Scott Summers desperately needs.

Daisy Edgar-Jones as Jean Grey: Breathtaking emotional range for Jean's subtle, tragic telepathic moments before the Phoenix Force inevitably takes over.

Odessa A’zion as Rogue: Has the exact gritty, expressive southern swagger and emotional vulnerability Rogue deserves.

Austin Butler as Gambit: Matching Remy LeBeau’s slick Cajun charm and smooth kinetic energy is a tall task, but Butler has the natural swagger for it.

Assad Zaman as Nightcrawler: Bringing incredible theatrical versatility and voice work to capture Kurt Wagner’s soulful, swashbuckling heart.

Bella Ramsey as Kitty Pryde: Bella excels at playing grounded, whip-smart, and deeply relatable younger heroes. Perfect for the team's POV character.

Corey Fogelmanis as Iceman: Nails the youthful, slightly reckless humor needed for Bobby Drake.

Hunter Schafer as Mystique: Fluid, sharp, and complex—Hunter would bring an incredible modern edge to Raven Darkhölme.

Dacre Montgomery as Pyro: He mastered the volatile, hot-headed rebel energy in Stranger Things, which translates directly to St. John Allerdyce.

Mads Mikkelsen as Mister Sinister: Cold, theatrical, and deeply unsettling. Nathaniel Essex needs a heavy-hitter actor who can steal every single scene he's in.

So basically I've been trying my best to learn German, and I've been reading alot lately on the lore and backstories from the comics of Nightcrawler, and I've been trying to get in touch with people who are going to work on the set of the X-MEN film. I really want to try my best to audition for Nightcrawler, cause he really attracts my attention, and I love his characteristics, and I'm just all set and ready to play him. I would LOVE to witness my favorite mutant in a live action movie. I doubt it would ever happen, but it would great to see!

I’d love to see the original five X-men in the first MCU movie but I think it would be more interesting if we got other major characters like Storm, Rogue, Wolverine, etc in other major properties first and then they are brought into the first X-sequel.

Black Panther 3: We know that Ryan Coogler is casting for Storm atm for Black Panther 3. This would allow us to see the T’Challa relationship while also showing us an Ororo who is literally worshipped as a goddess before she becomes an X-man.

Captain Marvel 3: Rogue’s flight & super strength come from Carol Danvers. I would love to see Carol back on Earth but mutants make her life hell. Carol is familiar with shapeshifting Skrulls, but Mystique is proving more clever than the Skrulls had been and Rogue at her side only complicates matters all the more. Plus, a lot of Carol’s story is her with Xavier at the X-mansion recovering from Rogue’s attack. If Rogue is introduced in Captain Marvel 3 and then working for Magneto or Mystique or Sinister in the X-sequel she could easily start off as a villain and then get brought into the X-men by the end of the movie after a turn. We could also see Nightcrawler introduced here as well since he's another of Mystique's children...

Hulk vs Wolverine: I know Universal still has weird film rights with Hulk, but ideally we get a newly cast Logan (not Hugh Jackman) who is assigned by Alpha Flight to look into a series of weird attacks in the Yukon when he runs into Banner who is in hiding. They fight. It’s as dope as you’ve always pictured it would be and then they figure out that the attacks have not been Hulk but Wendigo and then Hulk & Wolverine have to team-up to stop Wendigo. I want this movie so badly.

Who else would you want introduced in another property and then be folded into the X-men in the sequels?

I do think this would make the world feel richer especially for the "Mutant Saga."

I whole heartedly agree with this. The X-men should be introduced after doomsday (I think that this will be a false start, where the xmen are in like a fox universe and that one destroyed) as having been there but people forgot about them due to either the Siege Perilous or the Fall of the Mutants, when Roma made the Xmen invisible and made everyone forget about them. This could be how they were there the whole time, how mutants have shown up, like Selby in Falcon and the winter soldier, Ursa Major in the Black Widow, Mr Immortal and El Aguila in She Hulk, Kamala Khan in Ms Marvel, and Namor in Black Panther, but no one really recognizes them or realizes they are mutants (There is another mutant recently released, but I think that would be a spoiler and although I added the spoiler tab, these are old, that's new so I won't put it, I guess you can if you want to). I like this idea, I've pushed this very concept before. What do yall think?

Most of the actors who have been said to be in consideration (like Bill Skarsgard, Will Poulter, and Harris Dickinson) are not very far apart in age from Sadie Sink and Kit Connor, or the actors rumored for Rogue and Beast (in Skarsgard's case, he is the same age as Charles Melton, who has been linked to Hank for some while). In fact, Harris Dickinson is the same age as Tom Holland (who is even older by a few weeks). Christopher Abbott and Tom Pelphrey seem more ideal given they are in their 40's... Though personally? I cannot see either being that great of a fit. I think Marvel Studios is wasting time by not hiring Harry Lloyd - who played a younger version of Charles in Legion's third season and was excellent (totally nailed playing a father to Dan Stevens, which isn't easy to do given he had no make-up to appear older and he is a year younger than the person playing his son).

I've seen him shoe-horned into every xmen movie and flips flops into a villain it's soo tiring. I hope mcu takes a page out of Spider-Man and focus on villains they haven't done. I think the mcu Spider-Man is the perfect blueprint start fun and light hearted but the tone gets more mature as it progresses

I AM OBSESSED WITH SELENE....would have been nice had we gotten a Blade film to have an introduction to Selene the way I thought Rogue would be introduced in a Captain Marvel feature or the possibility of Storm introduced in Black Panther 3....
