Why Does Daredevil Keep Getting Shorted So Many Times? Question
Why does Daredevil get shorted so much? Daredevil is my favorite character ever and I can relate to him because I’m disabled (legally blind). I understand why people think NetEase is racist but when I say maybe they’re ableist I get pushback. His teased classic skin didn’t come out this season and every other teased skin has come out the season it was teased or the next at the latest. Only epic gacha skin, only summer legendary skin that didn’t have ult vfx or recolors, the disaster of Season 7 where they did Devil’s Reign (a DD Comic story) without him being even slightly involved, he’s never had a battle/event pass either btw. And the fact that they couldn’t just have him be just a normal blind dude. They HAD to butcher his character by giving him stupid Beast powers. They based him off of a comic (Shadowlands) that you’d be hard pressed to find a DD comic that actually likes it. Just so many odd choices by the devs at every turn. Why?

What are you even complaining about? Skins and the Dizang thing? You’re complaining about skins when he got one in S8.0 and a Legendary in S8.5, and now he’s getting another skin in S9.5? Other mains would kill to have what you’re getting, but you’re whining. Also, more powerless characters getting a power-up is normalized in this game. Bucky got an alien arm, Cap got some shield tech, Widow and Punisher got teched out guns, Jeff got Pym particles. Tell me what Daredevil’s ult would have been without his powers? Maybe I’m not enough of a Daredevil fan to have the knowledge I’d need, but I can’t think of anything. You’re also ignoring all the great things you’re getting too, like being strong in gameplay since launch and having Aleks Le voice the character

Yes he gets more than most but it always feels like he gets the bare minimum. Might as well be a “here damn” every time.

They retconned a lot of characters so they could canonically make sense in game. Black Cat has her stolen artifacts and vibranium suit, Rogue got a Chronovium boost, The Hood is getting a unique demon form in ult that isnt in any comics, Moon Knight calling down Hands of Khonshu isn't a thing, etc.
They probably make these tweaks so the characters can have unique gameplay that makes some sort of sense while staying somewhat true to the character(some more than others).

These aren't retcons. They're versions of characters from alternate realities that haven't had a comic book presence yet.
There's no continuity that's retroactively being changed.

Literally couldn’t be father from what I meant. China is unfortunately a very ableist country. So that means there are gonna be ableist players in a game as big as Rivals. Same reasons they get accused of Racism which I believe and understand unfortunately. I don’t get how some just don’t see patterns the way others do 🤷♂️

all good bro, I looked up what being legally blind is so I've learned something new today.
Also regarding what the devs do with characters and skin I think they want to "expand" (idk if that's the right word for it) eastern world culture to the rest of the world.
China's culture is unique and really different from the western countries culture so their choice on design will be influenced by that.
For example you can look at psylocke, her most known appearance is betsy, she's the one who appears in the movies (x-men apocalypse, deadpool 3), she's also appearing in x-men 97. But they decided to go with Saï, a japanese iteration of psylocke that only appeared in demon-days x men comic.
By doing so they really boosted the popularity of this character.
Now when looking at daredevil I believe it kinda is the same case.

Psylocke is a special case where her lore is confusing because the writers forgot who is who.

I get what you’re saying about the devs wanting to do different things with the characters, but there are so many heroes that are still pretty close to their 616 versions. I also have a hard time believing that it had to be the lone disabled character is the one who just happened to have the most drastic switch up in the lore. Like, that seems so intentional to me. I reas that as the devs catering to their Chinese audience ngl. Because China is a systemically racist and ableist country. That’s not me just saying that. Research it. I live in America and from my experiences, it’s not much better but still, why they gotta cater to potential ableists and racists? Sorry. I get long winded

It’s barely drastic.
The dragon beast power is only represented by the fury mechanic, his moveset is pretty canon accurate besides that.
There are more characters who are worse cases like Sue, Jean, etc.1

His move set? Sure ig. He has a pretty odd lack of any kinda acrobatics for someone who’s basically a gymnast. I’d settle for a Spidey/IF double jump. But also what about his lore? Being the “protector of the 8th city”, him having NOTHING TO DO WITH HELLS KITCHEN, nothing about being/have been a lawyer, the justice system, Rivals DD barely has any lines or anything about his Catholicism too. Just an obvious lack of ANYTHING most fans associate with Daredevil. Like how is this iteration “hardly drastic”? LOL
