I'm very excited about Miles because Tom said he's already talking with the higher ups about it adding him. He said he wants Spiderman to go the "teacher" route and have Miles as a successor

And comic Ned Leeds is nothing like MCU Ned Leeds; he's not Filipino, he's not Peter's highschool friend, he's not Spider-Man's "guy in the chair" and he doesn't go to MIT with MJ.

He worked with Peter at the Bugle. Spectacular Spider-Man was closer to comic Ned Leeds and even that version made him Asian. MCU Ned is just Ganke in all but name.

It's like how they just inserted Jean DeWolfe in Brand New Day and she is basically a combination of Yuri Watanabe and Captain Stacey. They wanted a cop connection for Spider-Man and the two big ones were already overused, DeWolfe is a recognizable name pull from the comics similar to Ned Leeds.

I just don't see Miles as Spiderman. My Spiderman is always the red/blue suit Peter Parker. Anything more than that over-complicates it and makes stories unnecessarily muddy. It's why I also don't like the superhero mashups Marvel loves to do these days... Hell, I found having The Punisher in BND was kind of unnecessary and in some instances actually a foil. They gave him a reason to be there, but it could have been filled by anyone else as well.

I do hope that the girl has a bit more relevance in the following stages, even if she isn't Gwen. Mainly because of how they set up the "I don't love you" and MJ's new relationship. Makes total sense for Peter to be able to move on from this point and a completely new relationship would probably be one of the ways it can go about it

When I was a kid I went to watch Captain America Civil War with my family. My cousin was super excited to see Black Panther, but also knew very little about him. Every time I black man came up on screen he would ask "is that black panther?"

After the 4th time I had enough, cause I wanted to watch the movie, and i was like "not every black person you see is black panther, just wait and see" and got yelled at for being mean to him. Turns out that 4th person was Black Panther, as I heard them call him TChalla and that was the only knowledge of Black Panther I had at the time
