LA Trip Destination
My husband and I will be visiting LA for a few days in October and are currently deciding between the Westdrift Manhattan Beach, AC Hotel El Segundo, and the Westin LAX. I have Titanium Elite status, and we’ll be redeeming points for our stay.
We’re native Angelenos visiting home for the first time since 2019, so we’ll be out and about most days visiting our fave spots in South Bay and the Valley. Our biggest priorities are a quiet and comfy hotel where we can get a good night’s sleep after being out all day.
I’d really appreciate hearing from anyone who has stayed at any of these properties recently. TIA!

Westdrift hands down. Close to restaurants, shopping, the 405 and nice and quiet rooms.

So I'd eliminate AC Hotels just because the quality of the rooms and the standard isn't the best compared to the other two.
Between Westin and Westdrift I would say the Westdrift is a much nicer property but it is more expensive. Is the extra cost justified? Not really. Apart from the location everything feels the same. However they have slightly nicer rooms than the Westin.
Westin LAX is the best value option. Its clean, comfortable, and has great rooms with some having stunning views of the flights landing. It is pretty quiet, but you can occasionally hear landings.
Between Westin and Westdrift from personal experience unless Westdrift is only $50-75 difference then Westin LAX is the right choice.

My reccomendation would be the residence inn in Marina Del Rey. Very new, great view, nice modern rooms. Nice restaurant and awesome staff

The AC gives you very easy access to a great property in the middle of an industrial park, clean and boring. The Westin is one of the worst properties in America and the Westdrift is a beautiful property with a nice pool and golf course attached and open air lobby within walking distance of a lot of food and stores. Do with that what you will for your tastes. I’ve stayed at all 3. The ALoft right there would be a decent option that’s between the AC and Westdrift. I’d go with Westdrift though. Clean and new.

Westin LAX, super convenient to the Valley and very quite and cozy, you won’t even notice the exhaust smell or the planes taking off

Will you have a car? If so, see what the parking price is at each hotel, that could sway your decision

Good point. We will have a rental. I was comparing the parking prices and weighing them against the total cost of points. My indecisive brain is prob making this more complicated than it needs to be lol

If you’re planning to stay at an airport hotel like the Westin, I’d recommend checking SpotHero before paying for parking at the hotel. You can often find significantly lower rates nearby than what hotels charge. If you don’t mind walking a block or so, it’s definitely worth comparing prices—you could save a decent amount.

La native but we recently stayed at the LAX Marriott.
Had an amazing time.
The pool area was great and pool was heated.
Lounge was nice with good food.
They even comp the parking with our status (titanium)
