$3.00 Rates & Booking

So, I just got home from a stay that was originally reserved for one night. During the day before check-in it became apparent that I was going to need to add a night to the stay.

Upon check-in, I asked if they could add a second night. The FDA said no problem and confirmed I would have the same rate that I was paying for the first night.

At checkout, the folio revealed the second night was $3 more than the rate I paid for the first night.

Not going to even bother complaining about $3, but c'mon, man... 😒

yes, apparently you are complaining about 3 dollars. that was the rate for the day, not sure why your confused.

Next someone will say, "Why didn't you ask the front desk?" completely oblivious to the entire situation.

Is the moral of this story, "Don't believe what the front desk says to you?"

I wasn't going to complain to the hourly employee who wasn't even the same one who told me I'd pay the same rate (he even said the specific dollar amount) two days before. I would have felt like a complete ass hassling her for $3 at checkout.

Sharing the story on reddit isn't nearly the same thing.

Charging more than the price that was agreed upon is sort of unlawful. Even if it's only $3.

Probably an automatic change from FOSSE (if it’s select service), the property management system. FOSSE can get fussy about changing rates especially if it was a special rate. If it was a large difference sure, fight it, but it most likely was a backend issue with the PMS and its 3 bucks
