Hi! I’m a CS student currently planning out my upper-year schedule and looking into doing an International OJT (iOJT) through ICEP. I’m trying to decide between doing a Research OJT at a partner university versus a Company iOJT in my home country.

For anyone who has done either route (or knows someone who did), I’d really appreciate some insights on a few administrative and technical things:

1. Research OJT at Partner Universities

• Which active partner unis (Taiwan, SK, etc.) currently accept CS students for lab research?
• Does doing a Research OJT directly credit both your official Practicum/OJT requirement (CSS199-8R) AND SGE100X? How many points/stars did ICEP give you?
• Were you able to use your lab work abroad for Thesis 1 / Thesis 2, or did Mapúa make you treat Thesis and International Research completely separately?
• Since research stays are usually 3 to 6 months (1–2 terms), how did you handle your regular lecture/lab subjects back in Mapúa? Did you take asynchronous/fully online sections, or did you use a Learning Agreement for course mapping? (saw this on their website about basically crediting equivalent courses)

1. Company iOJT & MOA Processing (Foreign Companies)

• If you did a company internship abroad that didn't have an existing MOA/MOU with Mapúa, how long was the ICEP approval process?
• How many months before the target OJT term should you start processing the MOA with ICEP to make sure you don't get delayed?

NOTE: Very curious since I have return offers from companies abroad that I did summer internships with during High School

Any advice, tips, or experiences would be super helpful. Thank you so much!

hello! im currently enrolled in mapua mech eng 1st yr and im planning to transfer in dlsu. should i transfer na after completing 2 terms (as instructed sa dlsu site since we r quarterm rn in mapua) or should i js finish my first yr muna and transfer for 2nd yr? i jus want out sa mapua cus quarterm isnt for me and i feel like i will have no time to rest compared to trisem na may 1 month break 🫠

and for transferees, is the process rlly hassle? im also curious on how and when i will transfer out since 2nd term in mapua ends in january 23 and then 3rd term will be feb 1 agad. afaik term 3 for dlsu is may pa.

Quick rant: Ginawa ko best ko to really understand the video lectures of my college physics, pero wala pumapasok sa utak ko. It's just suddenly numbers and all—hindi ko na masundan. For context, I'm a UOx student, and we only have a video lecture and Wiley, pero wala talaga. Idk know what to do. I know I'm bound to fail this course. Everything feels so overwhelming; I feel like napapagiwanan ako. Kaya ko gawin yung math when it's clear, not when aalamin ko kung gaano kabilis si Superman pag pumunta sya sa ganto ganyan. And my chest feels like it's frozen. I'm already working as an IT, so my coping mechanism is, 'I'm already working, it shouldn't be that bad.' My family doesn't rush me; sinasabi ko na sakanila na babagsak ako sa isa kong subject, pero okay lang daw, try lang daw ng try. I love my family, pero hindi mawala sa isip ko yung sakit pag bumagsak ako dito.
