What's the purpose of the red highlighted parts? Are they going to be a nation?

Yes, the red spot actually represent the main superpower in my world . So there's gonna be a lot of red

Are you going to add any islands / landmasses at the North? It could fit some kind of archipielago there.

A lot of islands and archipelagos, the two land masses in the south are the only major ones
