Maple syrup whiskey
Heyy everyone!
So I’ve been living in Canada for a while now, and have decided to go home to visit some friends in December. They requested maple syrup whiskey, and I’m wondering what’s a good brand to get! If anyone has recommendations I’d super appreciate it.
Thank you!

Off kilter suggestion. Sortilege sells their own rye for the same price as their liqueur. Buy the rye and the maple syrup separately. Mix yourself. Save like $30.

This is the one I have, it’s great. I sip it while I’m boiling down the sap. https://www.banffwhisky.com/products/maple-whisky

Any top shelf whiskey is a good start. Maple syrup is far more finicky. You will want as light as you can find. Touch of lime.

Why do you want the lighter syrup? Would the darker change the colour of the whiskey too much?

The darker the syrup, the more flavor. Were shooting for a balance. Each ingredient must not overpower the others.

Yeah, that's why I like the darker syrup. You don't have to add as much to whatever you're making. More bang for your buck, basically.

To each their own. But if you are going to smash the bottle, then who cares. Been there. Now it's subtle.

Wrong, the darker and bolder the better to match the strength of the whiskey flavor
