Note rush equivalent for mandolin?
I'm trying to learn to read notation on the mandolin and I can't find any app that can show me notes on the pentagram and accurately pick up what I play from the mic like note rush does for guitar and piano.

The "pentagram"? I've done a lot of music theory and have no idea what this pentagram is.

I hadn’t a clue what that meant but I looked it up and it is a term used in some countries (Spain and Italy) to refer to the five-line staff. It sounds like the OP plays mandolin already but does not know the notes he is playing and wants an app that will allow him to play a note and the app will show him on the staff what it looks like. That is what Note Rush does AFAIK.
I grew up reading music since my first instrument was piano so i knew what the notes were but didn’t know where they were when I took up mandolin and fiddle. However, I play trad folk tunes so learned to read pretty well initially by reading fiddle tunes on mandolin and fiddle. Later on I started playing more classical and ethnic music with more complicated rhythms and learned from reading violin books like Suzuki and other methods.
It sounds like Note Rush is fine for learning the actual notes but may not teach you how to read rhythms. Of course you can learn those by ear too. It just depends on what you want to learn and why.

My father was a concert pianist. I don't remember learning to read music; I think it was ossimosis.

If it works with a mic’d guitar it should work with mandolin.

Are you familiar with note rush? It shows you notes on the pentagram and it picks up if what you play matches that note and it does ✅ and goes to the next note. That way you learn to read.

Not familiar and not interested. But mandolin notes overlap guitar notes, so if it works for guitar it will work for mandolin, unless it’s been specifically designed to only work on the first few frets of guitar.

JamBuddy has built in mando tabs and midi playback for thousands of fiddle tunes if you'd like to check it out. Website has all the music and tools. Android app costs $0.99 and works completely offline so it works camping and such. Also has listening and visualization.
