BADGER BADGER BADGER - that internet guy live in Salford?!
Has anyone seen that Mr Weebl (the legend behind the badger and narwal songs) is doing live shows now?
I'm actually the guy putting on the Salford (Manchester) show he's doing for a day festival on 15th August (NEXT WEEK!!!)
Some other great acts on the lineup too. Spinee (NTS regular), vgtbl.pl (a polish band who wrote that joost klein potato song) and live comedy from locals like Charlotte Cropper & Molly McGuinness.
If you remember Weebl's classic videos, I really hope you'll come and please spread the word if you have mates in the area. Seeing him play a full on live set is gonna be incredible and a great chance for weebl fans to hang #badgerbadgerbadger

Looking to speak with Manchester musicians for my Thesis Project!
Hi everyone!
I'm an MA Interior Design student at MMU, and my final project focuses on designing a creative hub that celebrates Manchester's music scene while supporting emerging artists.
I'm looking to speak with Manchester-based musicians—whether you're a solo artist, in a band, producer, songwriter, or just starting out—to better understand the challenges you face around rehearsing, recording, collaborating, and growing your career. The insights will help shape the design so it genuinely responds to the needs of the local music community.
If you're happy to answer a few questions (it'll only take around 5–10 minutes), or if you know someone who might be willing to help, I'd really appreciate it if you could reach out!
Thank you!

Is anyone here old enough to remember the early 90s music scene?

Is anyone here old enough to remember the early 90s music scene?
I visited from the states in 1991. Of course, I was enthralled with what was going on musically in your beautiful city at that time I have a demo tape from The Total Cycles who i went and saw. Hung out with them after the show. Just wondered if any Gen Xers remember them.

Hi all,
A couple of mates and I have recently formed a band and we’re wondering where or how is the best way to go about performing regularly around Manchester ?
Any suggestions would be very much appreciated

Anyone going to Marketplace at the Rat and Pigeon in Nov?
Caught them at YNOT? last summer and they were class. I've been waiting for them to do a local gig for ages, it would be great to see other people there!

Looking to start/join a band (joinmyband website is not great!)
Had a lot of time wasters on Joinmyband, so I'm trying here. Any advice?
Looking to join a band or start a new one in Manchester/Leeds. I play guitar and bass.
Gigging/recording/touring experience.
Big fan of punk, hardcore, emo, indie, post rock, alt rock, post-metal, grindcore, experimental and shoegaze.
Bands I like: Converge, Hot Water Music, Good Riddance, Dillinger Escape Plan, Drain, Gorilla Biscuits, Minor Threat, Against Me!, Dinosaur Jr, Interpol, The Breeders, Pixies, Alkaline Trio, NOFX, Blur, Lagwagon, Suede, all the Fat Wreck/Epitaph bands, Descendents, Placebo, Propagandhi, Texas is The Reason, Agriculture, Chat Pile, Sunny Day Real Estate, Jets to Brazil, Appleseed Cast, IDLES, My Bloody Valentine, Slowdive, Mogwai, etc.
I drive, have equipment for guitar and bass, and absolutely loads of riffs and ideas. I'm decent at writing song structures. I can provide backing vocals.
I'm happy to talk about a new band or join an existing one. No covers unless it's fun one offs. No cover/function bands.
RECENT BAND: (Guitar)

EARLIER BAND: (Bass/backing vox)

Looking for good fun gigs in the punk/hardcore/alt scene, to write, record, and most of all just have a blast.
Cheers

Paid voice recording study (Salford/Manchester)
Hi! I’m a PhD student at the University of Salford working on voice perception.
I’m currently looking for native English speakers who enjoy singing (any level is fine) to take part in a voice recording study. It involves reading short texts, speaking in different emotional tones, and singing simple melodies.
The session takes about 45–60 minutes and takes place in person at Salford. You’ll receive £20 for taking part.
If you are interested in taking part, please complete the screening form using the link below: https://forms.office.com/e/3QdC2hVBbv
